Is there any hope for mankind?

Whether you believe in God or not, and whether you believe that a hope is needed...Outside of the cross of Christ, is there any hope for any of us or mankind as one?

I think we have all the hope in the world. Humanity is in charge of its own destiny and not hung up on the strings of a cosmic puppet master. Sure, we make lots of mistakes. Sometimes really awful ones. But we keep on moving forward and I really do have hope that we will continue to make this a better world.

Edit: For me personally? Sure, I have hope because I know it's within my ability to reach for my goals in this life. I don't need any hope for anything after death because I don't think there's anything there.
