The side of Justice! Which is helpful. I love Israel and the Israelis and lived there for almost a year. All anyone wanted was peace. My friends lived in peace with the neighbouring Palestinian towns.

The only thing I can add that's new, is that I studied the Old Testament under an atheist scholar. His fear for Israel is that unless the Israelis stopped treating others, as they had been treated throughout their history, they will suffer the same consequences as always. They cannot deviate from morality as they so often did as God's chosen people in the Old Testament. Every time they ended up in trouble.

Easier said then done. Hamas is an extremist group, there is no talk of peace. My tree is there.

Neither side I think like a many people war should be abolished and a measure introduced at the U.N. to abolish war . People might not respect the measure but it would be there.

Then since the current secretary of the U.N. wants a more effective U.N. that to start with citizens in member nations could be trained as U.N. soldiers and so be ready if any severe attacks on their rights occured to invoke U.N. membership and stop such.

For example Iraq, Afghanistan, Rwanda, and Israel are members of the U.N. so the events in each seem strange for the reason that citizens in the first three could not use a trained U.N. force comprised of citizens before the events. The first being a war would mean Iraqis could use U.N. membership and U.N. trained army size U.N. to stop Saddam if he was as bad as said and Israel could have used U.N. membership as well. Then in Rwanda the people about to be killed would have been trained by the U.N. and so could have invoked their membership and used what they had of the trained force to stop the genocide.

In Afghanistan he women could have been already trained soldiers as Aghanistan was a member according to the list since 1946. But those not trained as Taliban did not allow them then could be trained by U.N. soldiers and the use the membership of Afghanistan in the U.N. to fight the Taliban.

Clear: Israel's side. Not in the killing though cause now we live in the NT. But why Israel is fighting is just its right for the land, and doesnt stop there.

Even during the cease-fire and afterwards too, Hamas has been firing rockets and shells into the Israel community. Fortunately for the Israelis, many of them fall on worng targets and gets media attention that their weapons used were only a childs-capacity-attack. Historically, archeologically, scientifically everythings point out the land belongs to the Israel and its at their mercy that the Palestines are staying there that they are given a land. Hamas rockets are not childish harmless defenses, if anyone thought so, sorry for your misunderstandings. Its deadly as any other weapon and their aim: DESTRUCTION of Israel.

After the ceasefire, Hamas rockets frequented more than before and Israel waited patiently for them to be given first chance to stop, but it continued. Media wants to cover this cowardly acts by Hamas and emphasises and exaggerates the attacks by Israel only. When Hamas take the first chance and start the attack, media states that as martyrs for Palestine. AFTER somuch of their intolerance and stubborn attacks, when Israel sees no other option but to retaliate, teh media displays that as, MASSACRE OF THE PALESTINES without ever highlighting any of the Hamas faults. Still, theres a God who sees all this and Israel is the Promised Land.

    Genesis 12:3

And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed

    God bless!

Can a democratic government trust a terrorist organization?

Israel is our only allies in that part of the world, all the countries around them want to destroy not only Israel but the western world. Hamas only desire and goal has,is and will be the destruction of Israel, so there cannot be peace until one of them disappear or change their ideology, which hamas will never do. Israel doesn't have much choice but to go in and get rid of these killers. After all hamas people long to die for their cause. We cannot forget that we are also their target, and they are looking for ways to hit us again. Making peace with terrorist doesn't work and will never work. How many times have israel tried to make peace with them, and they used that time to rearm and sock pile more weapons, sad, very sad.

What is the war about? Self-protection.

Israel is trying to protect its citizens from those who swore for its destruction. Unfortunately, there's not much chance of stopping the Islamic fanatics in Gaza. If Israel, by a miracle, eradicate HAMAS, they will become martyrs and ten times as many new fanatics will replace them. It's a vicious circle that will never stop.

We live in a crazy world...

Why doesn't anyone understand Hamas's side?

Israel is not a country it's merely OCCUPIED PALESTINE.

The Palestinians were not responsible for the holocaust so why do they have to pay for Jews suffering with their lives and homes?

Why don't they go and take some part of Germany and make their home there?

Hamas has every right to defend themselves, since Isarelites have invaded their homes.

If someone came and killed your family and took your home would you clap for them?

No you would defend yourself, that is exactly what Hamas is doing?

Why couldn't jews live with Arabs in Palestine?

they were just very selfish and wanted their own government so they kicked out the Arabs.

To me Arabs and Jews look the same, but I dont understand why Jews were so selfish to think that they had more right to Palestine than real Palestinians.

I think war is is sad as so many innocent people die. It's heartbreaking to see people at odds all the time with no peace.

    Israel

All she wants is to peacefully prosper.

If there was not the constant terrorist danger, Israel would not have to control their borders or be Isolated !

    Here is what's happening.

Israel withdrawn from Gaza and Hamas won the elections.

Israel blockaded Gaza and stopped their supplies "food, fuel, gas, water, power, medicine...etc"

Hamas started to fire rockets "very weak rockets of the small size" on Israeli settelments near Gaza to make some pressure on Israel to break the blockade.

Israel invaded Gaza several times before to stop Hamas from firing rockets and failed.

This time Kadima "the Israeli party in power" needs to make a rapid victory against hamas before the approaching Israeli elections to increase their chance in staying in power.

In order to gain enough popularity they need to attract the extremist Jews by murdering as much Palestinians as possible and killing some Hamas leaders as well.

But in the same time they need to tell the world the story of the terror of Hamas and that Israel is defending itself.

Self defense is not by targetting houses and mosques nor killing 450 civilians 25% of them are children.

I think it's wrong and I think it should stop. You are not Anti-Semitic if you don't agree with Israel. In fact many Jews disagree with what Israel is doing...read this speech by a Rabbi:
