Whats a good reference book.?

I'm thinking about starting a family with my hubby.

I would like to educate myself first with how to prepare for pregnancy and getting preggers...

Could you point me to a good reference book or website for people that are scared shitless of being pregnant (but looking forward to parenthood)

It's less technical and medical and more real life than What to Expect When You're Expecting.

What to Expect when You are Expecting was THE BEST book for me to know factually what to expect physically as well as mentally.

I too was terrified of my first pregnancy - and I was 39 years old!!!

Despite the fact that I ended up having gestational diabetes, was unable to have an amnio since the baby moved too much, my water broke 6 weeks early, the delivery via C-section after 23 hours of labor revealed the baby's umbilical cord was in a tight knot, and having a tiny - less than 5 pound baby more than a month before I was ready to do so - EVERYTHING WAS FINE!!!

My son is now a gorgeous, intelligent rambunctious, extraordinary 3 year old!!

Seriously, it was the most wonderful thing that I have ever experienced - all of it - even the stuff that would seem like it was "bad" really wasn't.

    Best wishes!!
