  • Anybody have side effects when using Elevit?

I recently found out I was pregnant...

was preggers for about 5 weeks before I found out...had no morning sickness or anything.

Went to the Doc to do the whole blood scan thing - and she told me to go on Elevit...two weeks later, I was experiencing EXTREME morning sickness, which was lasting 24 hrs.

Apparently it was the Elevit - the Iron in it that was making me sick.

I've now finished with Elevit, and feeling back to normal (or as normal as you can being preggers)...and taking Folate instead.

    Has anybody else experienced this?

Do you know where I can obtain a pair of these georgeous heels?

  • how can I help my Husband?

My husband has lost his confidence...

He recently found bad news about his parents, and has had to tell them he never wants to see them again. (Its a valid reason to divorce his parents).

However, ever since the news broke about his parents, he's a bit withdrawn...Has become very clingy, and unconfident. He thinks he is going to loose me as well.

I keep telling him I love him, we do activities together, and our relationship is fine...but I need to know how I can get him confident again. How to tell him that life goes on regardless of giving up your parents. How to tell him its not his fault?

I just want my confident, fun loving hubby back? Help!

  • Cement or brickies loam?

My hubby and i want to build a retaining wall...

we have the brickwork necessary to do it, and have dug out the trench that it's going to sit in.

Now we are hearing conflicting ways of doing the base...

Method one: use cement, and make it about 200mm deep. And then build the bricks on top of that.

Method two: just use brickies loam and build the bricks over the top of that.

I need a third opinion from someone who has built a retaining wall - which method would be more suitable and durable? Any other opinions welcome.

    Cheers.

  • Am I correct in thinking that having a toilet in the bathroom is unhygenic?

Currently the toilet is seperated from the bathroom, however my husband thinks that when we renovate the bathroom, to make one big room and to include the toilet with the rest of the bathroom.

I believe it's unhygenic to have toilet functions near any sort of toothbrush or other clean items....Am I wrong in thinking this way?

  • 50g chocolate or 50g veggie chips?

Ok, I've been watching my diet and exercise lately, as I realised that I'm becoming overweight...on the border of normal and over.

So, I've exercised this week, twice, both over 30 mins on the treadmill.

Today, I'm sitting in the office, and I intend to run this afternoon when I get home.

I've had a nectarine, 2cups of tea w/milk and sugar, caesar salad with apple juice for lunch. Now I'm eying off the vending machine.

Would 50g chocolate or 50g veggie chips be better. I'm thinking the veggie chips, as they are saying it's 40% less fat than potato chips, and they are free from preservatives and colours. However 50g of chocolate does sound very appealing to me at the moment...

What would be better for my situation? of course if I don't have anything, that is even better, by I"m famished!!!

  • what's better, 15 min excerise...?

I need to do some excerise this evening...however I only have about a 15 min gap before I have to do something else...

I'm interested in excerise for my health, ie better heart rate, and to loose the fat around my middle. And am only a new starter to treadmill exercises.

Would it be better to do intervals for 15 mins, or just go all out for that 15 mins?

  • Am I wrong in thinking this way?

When I was single, my friends address invitations to me, using my name...and sign off with their name and then their partners name.

I'm married now, and when these same friends send me invitations, they now use my husbands name first and then my name. Then when signing off they still use their name first.

Why would they now all of a sudden put my husbands name first? Especially if they are signing off with their name first and not their husbands name. And they don't know my husband that well...

I think it's frustrating that now that I'm married, I'm put second on the invite from my friends...Do they not value me anymore as an individual?

I can understand if it's a formal invitation...MR & MRS.....but it's an informal invitation for a BBQ...surely the person whom you are friends with should be first on the invite?

  • Should you eat before or after a workout?

I'll be doing some interval training today on the treadmill, but I was really hungry so had some toasted sandwiches for lunch. Can I go on the treadmill now, or should I wait?

  • Whats a good reference book.?

I'm thinking about starting a family with my hubby.

I would like to educate myself first with how to prepare for pregnancy and getting preggers...

Could you point me to a good reference book or website for people that are scared shitless of being pregnant (but looking forward to parenthood)

  • Yikes, this is hard to deal with.?

on new years eve, my sis-in-law confided in me, she told me that she and her sisters were abused sexually whilst growing up, by the father and older brothers in the family.

I had to break the news to my hubby that his dad molested his sisters...he is shattered. Shattered at what his 4 sisters went through and shattered that he Never knew. There are 12 kids in the family...

We don't know what to do, as the sisters have been estranged from the father and older bro's for years now, however my hubby and the younger bro's in the family still see their dad. And the dad has never done anything bad to them. However, our opinion has changed forever, and the father doesn't know that we know.

It's just SO bad, we don't know what to do....

    Do we confront the father,

do we estrange from the family,

do we continue as nothing happened????

  • What to buy someone you don't particularly care about...for xmas?

My bro-in-laws girlfriend is a real psycho. She has ostracised my bro in law from his family, (she thinks we don't like her - but we don't even know her!) however he is allowed to see us on Christmas day.

I'm not sure if she will be there, but just in case she is, I want to be prepared with a gift. I don't want to spend alot maybe $10-15. I have no idea what she likes other than my bro in law and she's not a girly girl.

    HELP!

  • Are all little brothers problem cases?

I have a younger brother, he has avoided all family functions in the past year, stopped talking to the family (reason unknown). Does talk to mum when she calls, but is very guarded about his answers. And needs to double check everything with his partner.

There is a family do on this weekend, Why would my younger brother come to this, and not any other family thing? He has already said he won't be attending our christmas party. Nor does he ever want us around at his home.

Do you reckon he'll let us know what his issue with us is?

  • They say Avocado is toxic to Bearded Dragons, how much is too toxic?

As my hubby didn't know avocado was a No-No. We thought the lizard would die overnight based on some websites' testemonies.

The lizard is fine. So how much is too much?

  • X-trail or Outlander...So confused.?

Need a vehicle for towing a boat - and for beach touring.

The xtrail looks like a decent car, won some good awards. However the Outlander looks to have more features in the standard vehicle.

I'm confused - they both look like they could do the job, but am I being swayed by propaganda?

Hoping for some real life opinions regarding the cons of these two vehicles.
