Let's be honest: Florida or Utah?
Florida may have won, but let's be honest with ourselves...
Doesn't Utah have a legitimate argument about sharing the championship?
Granted Utah plays in the Mountain West, but they beat 4 top-ranked opponents solidly, not to mention sha-lacked Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. 13-0 is pretty rare. Utah is ranked #2 today, but shouldn't there be an asterisk next to that rank?
A more interesting question - If Florida & Utah played, who would win?

I think it would be a good game but Florida would win. More talent, more speed (especially on defense).
This is really funny. I would say around 90% of America and 90% of the press would agree that we need a playoff in college football, but we won't get one. Bottom line: The sponsors want their bowl games. I don't see why we can't have all of the little crappy bowls AND a playoff.
Take the champions from the six BCS Conferences and add two "At Large" positions for someone like Utah, Boise State or if Notre Dame ever decides to be good again. There would be three rounds, games played on Saturdays, and we can have the National Championship game on New Year's day. All of the other small bowl games can be played during the weeks that the playoffs are going on. And if they wanted to hold the semi-finals or even the first round games in the bowl stadiums, they could do that and the sponsors would still get what they want. But I doubt it would ever happen.

Florida is the national champions and they earned it.
Utah had not beaten Alabama at the time the match-ups were selected. Also Utah had to rely on the TCU kicker missing multiple field goals to win that game. The only reason we are having this arguement is because the Ole Miss kicker actually hit his...
As far as the sugar bowl goes, Alabama went down early, but from the second quarter on, Bama won 17-10. It wasn't the wire to wire domination everyone seems to be screaming about. If Utah couldn't beat a team with only 2 regular startes on the offensive line, they wouldn't have deserved to be there. Florida didn't rout Alabama either, but they were missing Percy Harvin who last night accounted for 172 yards and a TD.
Id take Florida over Utah big.
Id take Oklahoma over Utah.
Id take USC over Utah.
Id take Texas over Utah.
In my mind, rankings aren't an entitlement. Undefeated means nothing to me unless you have beaten the other top contenders out there. The only thing Utah has earned is to be ranked ahead of Bama, TCU, and BYU.
If Utah was #1 and USC, Texas, Florida, and OU were 2-5, would you say Utah is a true number one considering the 2-5 teams would be favored to win?

Are you kidding? Utah played two ranked teams all year and both games were at home ( TCU,BYU ). They almost lost to ( 4-8 ) New Mexico 13-10.
Then you have Florida who played (5) top ranked teams including #1 Alabama for the SEC title.
Who would win between Florida and Utah? The battle proven and tested Gators by 21+.

utah has a good reason to think they deserved the BCS Championship but also lets look at the why they went undefeated. Look at who Utah played...Utah St, Air Force, Weber St, new Mexico, SD St...i mean the only team they played that was a good football team was Alabama. I mean they went undefeated because they played only 2 ranked teams in regular season and that was TCU and Brigham Young. Now Florida has a tougher division and to be honest i don't know how they lost to Mississippi. BUt they played Miami, LSU, kentucky< Georgia, SC, Bama and OU.. 6 top 25 teams...4 of those were top 10. Tougher teams to play....OU or Florida would have destroyed Utah

I believe there is a difference when you are playing a number one ranked team. When Utah played Bama it wasn't for the SEC Championship. Florida played the number one ranked team in the nation back-to-back winning both times. I think Utah would give Florida a good game but the Gators would win.

If florida and utah played Florida would be double digit favorites. Florida would not lose to Utah. USC would not lose to Utah. Utah had a great season, But considering not alot of people have seen Utah play Im sure including you excludint he sugar bowl, there is just no way Utah could be considered this year for the NC. Get over it. Never seen so many Utah Band wagoners.

I think that the game would be alot closer than the national championship game, but i still see Florida winning. Utah DESTROYED Alabama...they were up 21-0 at one point. But with Urban Meyer being the ex Utah coach u gotta believe there's some edge there...and "cough" Tim Tebow "cough"
