Can you have tooth extractions on both sides/same day?

Does anyone know if dentists will do work on both sides of the mouth the same visit? I need to have a couple teeth extracted but I am moving to Washington next Thursday and don't have enough time.

Update:

Thank you, everyone. It looks like as long as my dentist agrees, I'll have them all done this afternoon! Oh joy...

Yup.. I've had a tooth pulled in each quadrant all in one go, and I'm getting all 4 wisdom teeth out in one go next month. It's a lot better to do it that way, as you only have to go through the healing process once.

Can you? Sure. Should you? Maybe not. Both sides of your mouth will be numb and you can easily bite your tongue if you aren't careful. Also, it is very hard to eat while your mouth is numb.

Good luck :) Oh, and pre-medicate before you go. Have that Advil on board before you hit the chair. Stay ahead of any pain.

Some do, my cousin had it done before but was in horrible pain and with horrible swelling (makes world of a difference if teeth are impacted or not) personally, they have always done one side for me so that I could eat with the other.

Why not. Sometimes insurance policies require more than one visit, which is stupid, but if that is not the case there is no reason to not have them both done at the same time. I should think it would be safer since you wouldn't need to be exposed to the anesthesia more than once.

I had all four wisdom teeth removed the same time. I refused to go back and have it done in steps.
