  • If I'm hosting the baby shower, do I buy a gift too?

I'm hosting a co-ed luncheon baby shower for my girlfriend and her husband. It'll be a full lunch and cake type thing. Do I still get them a baby shower gift, or let them go? I've never hosted a shower before, so I'm completely clueless. We won't be doing gifts, since she is having a c-section it will be a fill the freezer shower (freezer and crockpot meals).

  • Best OFFLINE Geneaology software?

We have a huge family tree (as in HUGE, as over five generations including 700 people). I'm looking for geneaology software that will NOT connect to the internet sources like findagrave.com, ancestry.com, etc....because frankly, our family history nobody's business but ours. I don't want this correct information out there for others to find. Any recommendations on non information sharing software?

  • Good/Bad experiences with Genealogy websites?

I come from a HUGE family (great great grands had 8 grown kids, great grands had 10 grown kids, and my grandparents had 15 children--who had children!). Instead of using Visio for this mess I'm more than willing to either go buy software or pay an online tree building site, but I don't know which ones are the easiest to work with, benefits, most intuitive, etc. If anyone can provide any help, that would be fabulous.

  • Blending with Bergamot Tea?

I bought a bergamot tea (Lady Grey), that I absolutely hate, and returning it isn't an option. Does anyone know any other tea blend or flavored tea I could blend this with to make it more palatable? I hate to just throw it away....

One of my closest friends had a stillbirth this morning. her daughter was 31 weeks gestation. She went from a healthy kicking baby to an emergency C-section without baby revival. She is with family but from the phone call from her MIL at 4 this morning she wants me there today. Should I bring flowers? Myself? Bear with me, I haven t gone through this with anyone so I m completely clueless and don t know what to do. I have plans for filling her freezer down the road, but right now....this instant. Just be there? Thanks.

  • Grilled Chicken Breasts w/cream cheese....?

I'm looking at grilling b/s chicken fillets rolled/filled with cream cheese and zucchini relish. Anyone know if the cream cheese will melt and fall out? I mean, I CAN bake them, I just prefer the taste of grilled chicken over baked.

  • I smudged with sage last night. In the middle of the night I woke up extremely achy and feeling ill....?

I was extremely nauseous with a massive dizzy headache. I ended up staying up for a couple of hours during the night and still can't keep anything down.

Did I do something wrong, or am I simply having a bad reaction to the sage?

  • How do you keep track of wines you like?

I don't have a smart phone, so getting an app won't help. Writing them down in a wine book or a notebook isn't worth it either since my notepads keep disappearing.

Is there a website that you can use to keep track of the ones you enjoy? The only things I've found are apps. Urgh.....my brain storage for wine labels is running short....I can only remember so many that we've liked before I start to shut down!

    Thanks!

  • What happens after bunion pins are removed?

I had a bunionectomy and some plates put into my right big toe in December. The pin is coming out on the 17th of this month. What happens after the pins are removed? Do I magically go back to work? Do I need a few more weeks off? Can I drive? What are the next steps? The pin goes from the middle inner sole of my foot all the way up to the inside of my big toe.

  • Pint removal in foot--Pain level?

Had foot surgery last week--doc had to put plates, screws and pins in my big toe joint due to advanced arthritis, bone spurs, and a huge bunion. The pin is NOT in my big toe, it's on the top of my foot threaded through the bones going into my toe. When he changed the bandage today I nearly went through the roof (granted, some of the bandage stuck to the pin and the stitches). What will the pain level be when he pulls that pin out of my foot?

  • Thirst after Bunionectomy....?

Had a bunionectomy plus some plates and screws inserted into my foot for arthritis yesterday. Pre-op they told me I was dehydrated, even though I went through 1/2 gallon of water the day before. I cannot get enough water to drink right now...is it normal to be so thirsty after such a simple surgery?

  • How to 'thin' out limoncello?

I made limoncello this past summer...the batch made four 750ml bottles utilizing a handle of everclear. It's too harsh. What is the best way to 'thin' out the limoncello? Add more simple syrup? It's harsh enough that doesn't freeze and you have an overpowering sense of everclear. I want to enjoy it, but I just can't. I want to perfect it before the limes and grapefruits come into season next month so I'm all ready for summer!

  • Bunion making foot go numb...?

I have a pretty goot sized bunion on my right foot (enough that the podiatrist told me within 4 years surgery will be required). Has anyone heard, or experienced numbness in their arch when driving? I've noticed that when I'm driving for a little more than 30 minutes straight my bunion starts to ache, the toe and joint start to pop constantly and then my arch starts to ache and then go numb. I took a 3 hour road trip this past weekend and had to hand over the wheel within an hour as my joints had popped repeatedly, my toes were on fire but yet the side of my arch was completely numb. Doesn't matter what type of shoe I wear...

I'm thinking it might be time for surgery....but has anyone experienced this?

  • Website for Workout Help?

Anyone know if there's a website that will rate or help with workouts? Meaning YOU put in the excercises you are doing/want to do and then it lets you know if you're missing anything or any muscle groups. I've found routines online, but what if I want to do one on my own and make sure I've got my bases covered?

  • Mint Infused Olive Oil Recipes?

I bought a gorgeous set of olive oils (meyer lemon, garlic, and basil infused oils) and the salesperson gave me a bottle of mint infused oil (it was their last one and he didn't want to cart it back to the shop). Any ideas on what to make with it? I've searched online but I've found how to MAKE the oil, not what to do make WITH it. I've drizzled it on watermelon, but it'll take a lot of watermelon to go through this bottle!
