My dad is dizzy for no reason?

For about 2 or 3 days he says he feels dizzy a lot, but he doesn't feel sick and has no other symptoms that might cause 'normal' dizziness. He says bending over then standing up makes him dizzy, then when he first sits up and gets out of bed he's really dizzy. He never had this problem before, and he's a healthy weight and only 44 years old, any ideas of what is wrong, or what will help the dizziness go away?

Have him go to the doctor to get a blood pressure test, that has no other symptoms, hypertension.

It almost sounds like a blood pressure issue. He's fine when sitting down and then when he stands up he gets light headed. He should be checked by a physician. Just because he's never had a health problem before and is a healthy weight, doesnt mean anything. It could be any number of medical issues and this is a warning the body is giving. Please urge him to seek help before whatever is going on with him escalates into a problem that was preventable but ignored. Dizziness ALWAYS has a reason.

I had the same problem and just in April I felt dizzy and woke up an hour later with a 2 inch bump on my head and i'm 38. My problem because I had too much stress. My dad is 70 and he had the same problem but I can't remember the name of the pills the doctor gave him (stress from my bad apple younger brother) But I also started taking vitamin B shots which produces red blood cells and helps with stress (says it right on the package) but if he's not stressed it could be a number of things and he needs to be seen by a doctor so the problem doesn't get worse, even if he's stubborn like my dad make him go.

Many things can cause dizziness. Ever hear of syncope?

It could be neurological (in his brain) or cardiac related. It could be pulmonary - not enough oxygen to the brain. It could be any number of things.

    Is he a smoker?

You say he is dizzy for no reason, but if its something new there IS a reason for it. That reason could be important.

Men are stubborn but please ask him to go see his doctor. Just for a check up if nothing else.

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

I work on a cardiac floor in a large hospital and we get people in every day of all ages. Age and weight are often contributiong factors but so are genetic history and changes in activity and diet.

first do not start to panic. feeling dizzy is normal during the early stages of a pregnancy, even if you did not experience this with your first baby. you need to drink more water and make sure you are eating enough small meals throughout the day. chances are that the baby is taking away all of the nutrition from you and that is making you feel miserable. try eating a few more healthy snacks throughout the day and invest in a water bottle. carry it with you and if you get dizzy simply sit down and sip on some water. the dizziness will pass. congrats on the second baby!!! good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

He could be suffering from vertigo or it could be something as simple as sinuses. Sometimes with sinuses, the only symptoms you have are dizziness and an extreme headache. I'd definitely have him see a doctor (I don't mean to sound patronizing by that. I'm sure he's going to lol)

there's a reason for his dizziness, just needs to go to the dr to find out what it is...could be something like vertigo or low blood pressure, who knows...go to the dr soon.

Have dad check his blood pressure. Ask dad if his ears seem fine.

    1. Don't let him go out alone

    2. Consult a doctor as soon as possible
