Can Israel really wipe out Hamas or Hezbollah?

I think not. Israel cannot wipe them out without wiping out every Palestinian. Here is my solution: Israel should give enough land to the Palestinians so that they can unite Gaza and the West Bank. If they still get hit by rockets then they could do what they are doing now without being seen as evil occupiers.

    Are you kidding me?

You are saying that if they did that and they still get hit by rockets and then they try to retaliate their critics will see them in a "new light"?

Get this straight: Anti Israel cranks the world over don't really care if Israel is an occupier or not or has a legitimate reason to defeat Hamas or not or whether it has conducted itself in an exemplary manner or not, they just want Israel destroyed.

In other words, no course of action Israel would take would make it immune from criticism and condemnation.

And of course, that begs the question as to why Israel should even concern itself with such things over such matters such as the security of its own citizens.

But you see, that's the thing - By that point, Israel can't do what they want by then. by then, it will be too late.

Also, uniting west bank and Gaza means that Israel would be split into 2 parts. That's not optional.

People should realize this conflict, now, isn't about land. Israel gave back all of Gaza in 2005 as a first step towards peace, which caused the numbers of rockets and mortars shot the following year to increase by 232%. So much for peace.

Hamas' charter calls for the complete destruction of Israel and the creation of a Muslim country instead, in which there won't be a single Jew. There's really no peaceful solution with these people. They even stated themselves that a ceasefire is only a temporary thing for them during their struggle to achieve their agenda - Wiping out Israel.

"Hamas chief leader Khaled Mashaal said Saturday that the Islamist group's request for a ceasefire with Israel was "a tactic in conducting the struggle."

In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Mashaal explained that "it is normal for any resistance ... to sometimes escalate, other times retreat a bit." Hamas has implemented ceasefires in the past and has later resumed attacks, he pointed out, citing 2003 as a specific example."

Israel almost doesn't have a chance to wipe out Hamas completely without harming too many civilians, but they do have a chance to weaken[and kill off its leaders] it in hope that a more moderate organization which supports peace, not violence, will take over. But unfortunately.. that's highly unlikely. Moderate peace supporters aren't liked in the Palestinian public.

Israel's current operation took place after years and years of peaceful negotiations and restraint. And look where it got us - In 2001, Hamas shot homemade 3 km ranged rockets. By now, they shoot rockets that can shoot as far as 40 km and are very deadly. Israel has exhausted all diplomatic attempts during 8 years during which its citizens suffered. Now it's time to try the other approach.

The head of the snake lies in the ruling elites of Iran.

They finance, train, arm and brianwash the palestinian people.

Then the war is fought by proxy against Israel,a country that militarily dominates Iran and is a threat to its development of nuclear weapons.

Long term we need to consider how to defeat Iran. When the fundamentalist, despotic, corrupt regime falls, the desire for aggression against israel will wither on the vine.

Until such time Israel must remain strong and continue to ignore the pro palestinian bleatings of the UN.Any acceptance of a UN ceasefire under the recent terms is to invite further attacks as hamas will declare a victory.

    Let´s use logic.

Hamas and Hezbollah publicly declared that their ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel.

You say-and you are 100% right-that Israel cannot wipe them out without wiping out every Palestinian.

It means that practcally ALL the Arabs living in Jewish Palestine support Hamas and Hezbollah.

Now explain, why should Israel help create a palestinian state-if these "palestinians" practically unanimously support those who swore to destroy Israel?

Israel has attempted these types of Solutions for over 50 years... the Muslim world has said many times they will not stop until their is no Israel...

What Israel should do is set up a ten mile kill zone around the entire country... If ANYTHING in this area moves... kill it.

To hell with what the world thinks as much of the world is antisemitic.

Israel technically could nuke them (although this won't happen). Palestinians insist on having everything though because their religion grants them it. So, as a result they get nothing (actually they do get death)

""Israel cannot wipe them out without wiping out every Palestinian.""

    I fear you are right.

They have the weapons to do so but Israel is not a murderous nation that wants to destroy it's adversaries at any cost. Thank God.

Not really. But we can cripple them.

And giving them land would be rewarding terrorism. Not until they can behave themselves.
