A weird question, but please answer if you can?

It seems like my past is coming back to haunt me. My son's father recently started working after 3 years of not working at all. (My son is 3). We had never received any child support and suddenly we received about 6 checks in a row. They were small but helpful. After those checks, it seemed to have stopped. So I just assumed that he'd quit working or something. Well, I have friends that still associate with him and they told me it wasn't true and that he was complaining about the amount of child support coming out of his check and how he was left with only a little bit to pay the bills. After I found this out yesterday, I had a dream last night that he was telling everyone but me that he wanted to see his son and trying to get them to tell me. (he's always been that way.) In the dream, I got tired of it and went to his house to clear everything up myself and find out if he truly wanted to see him. When I got there, the girl who had introduced us answered the door. She started to tell me that he wouldn't speak to me so I just pushed past her and went in. He was there, sitting in the living room chatting with a bunch of friends. I told him pointedly that he needed to tell me what was going on and if he truly wanted to see our son. He said yes he did but he wasn't sure what the future held for them.

I woke up this morning and I have a friend's request on my myspace from the girl who introduced us. Now I'm feeling a little creeped out like the past is totally coming back to haunt me. I know that the confrontation with my son's father was just a dream, but now I'm wondering what to make of all of this?

I asked this in the relationship category and everyone thought I wanted my ex back. I don't want any relationship with him other than if he wants to see his son I want to make sure my son isn't psychologically harmed by this because he's been taken care of by my husband who he believes is his daddy.

Update:

That's the thing though. He hasn't shown and interest in him. My son is soon to be 3 1/2 and he's never once cared to see him. We ran into him one time and the man turned around and litterally ran away.

It is possible to have dreams of the future that really happen this has happened to me a few times.allow him to see his son if that s what he wants at least your son won t be confused when he grows up about who his dad is and he will still love your husband.the father of your son really should be paying child maintanance whether it leaves him with less money or not that s the law.be thankful you have some insight into the future now you have time to think through handling the situation carefully.good luck.

  • I have had dreams that literally come true. For example, I dreamed that a bf I had that I treated like crap but was crazy about me broke up with me. I laughed because I was sure he was very very into me. Next time I saw him he did break up with me. I also started dreaming that I liked this guy I considered to be ugly and we started dating. I had that dream several times and then I suddenly liked him and we started dating. Not all my dreams have come true but yours sounds like it is happening the way it happened to me. Don't freak out. If he wants to see his son, that's a good thing. He's the dad and it is nice that he shows an interest in your son. It is good for your son too.

aie - sounds like the man is being forced to grow up and face maturity whether or not he wants to.

send him a registered signed receipt letter - a friendly one - telling him he's welcome to visit his son any time (just, you know, give proper notice) and thank you for the support, it was really helpful when it came time to buy clothes because gosh darn, the boy grows so fast!

    you know the drill.

that's about all you can do - now when he prattles on about how he "can't" see his son, you're covered.
