Attn: Hunters/Rednecks...How to clean Deer Heads/Duck?

We just had our living room repainted and we had to remove our deer heads and duck from the wall. They are all VERY dusty. What is the best way to clean them? I'm scared to vacuum them. Any suggestions? Serious answers only, please.

Update:

I'd like to find a way to clean them myself and not have to take them in anywhere.

Carla, you can clean your mounts with common brushes and tools. For your deer mounts take a swifter or a fox tail brush and dust them. Make sure you brush with the hair and not against it. The antlers, eyes, and nose can be wiped with a damp cloth. If the nose is cracked its easy to touch it up with model paint or have your taxidermist do it. Ducks and pheasant can be cleaned with a soft brush, swifter brush, and a vacuum. If you vacuum one use the upholstery brush and and vent it slightly. Again do not stroke against the feathers, go with the direction they lay.

Shampoo. Try not to get the seams wet behind the neck. After that blow dry with a hair dryer and comb it real well. It's hair ain't it.

    Cleaning

Some trophies become soiled to the point that they need additional cleaning rather than just dusting. When this occurs they can be washed with soap and water. When washing trophies, take a bucket of mild soap powder or chips, and wash with a soft damp sponge. Always remember to wash with the grain of the animal's hair. The following day, when the trophy is dry, the mounted mule deer mounts should be brushed with a soft brush or comb, once again in the same direction as the grain of the hair. Don't saturate the trophy or soak the head or skin in water.
