How long after you gave birth did you start having sex again?
With my first two daughters it was four weeks but this time around that is the last thing on my mind. I am in way more pain this time (probably because my son was almost nine pounds!) and can't imagine ever having sex again. When did you have sex again after giving birth, was it the same? was your spouse/signifcant other understanding in you needing to take your time or was it an issue?

About 5 days, i was in labour for 72 hours but was lucky enough not to have any tears/stitches, i felt very much in love with my husband after our Daughter was born, i'm very comfortable around him so we made love when it felt right for me. Although i know they recommend you wait 6 weeks.

To be absolutely safe, you really should wait until after your post-delivery checkup, which is usually six weeks. Your body has to heal from any tearing or episiotomy that may have occurred. Apparently this will be your first baby, so you don't know if you will be lucky enough to avoid that. Even if you do, it takes a while for the cervix to close back up to its normal pre-baby size, which makes it easy to become infected, so absolutely, positively use a condom if you do have sex. Perhaps if you check things out with your (clean) fingers first, and nothing hurts, and you are sure everything seems to be okay, you could have sex earlier. I have heard of people doing it at two weeks, but remember, you still have ten fingers and a tongue for giving pleasure. If anything hurts or otherwise doesn't feel right during sex, stop immediately and go to other activities. Has anyone explained to you about the sleep-deprivation most new parents go through? New babies typically wake up and want to eat every couple of hours. (It's a good thing they're cute.) You may not have enough energy for sex. And if you have any signs of depression, please get medical help. It is a hormonal problem which can make you delusional and can interfere with every aspect of your life.

I waited two years with my one vaginal birth.
With my next three I had c-sections and I waited til after the bleeding was over. Eleven days.
I was eager to start for the most part. I kind of took the last time like falling off a horse. The sooner you get back on, the better.
There are other ways to take care of a man besides sex. Affection. Just sitting together watching a movie....
My sex life has always been wonderful with my husband. The one man for me. (He called me today and I am so happy!!!)

I had sex after 5 weeks girl... and i was not in the mood at all. It felt different. Here I am pregnant again and my son is only 3months old. I'm freaking out, and pulling every strand of my hair..lol
Nine pound baby is no joke, I think you should wait a little longer. Did you get stitches? When i had my son I said i am never having sex again..lol Look at me 2day.... Its just the mood your in; because when i was pregnant i always wanted to have sex, and my boyfriend was afraid to hurt the baby, now i dont want to be bothered. Its the hormones, LETS BLAME IT ON THE HORMONES...LOL

My husband was very supportive, as I was not in the mood to have sex either. I waited the 6 weeks that they recommend, but I was still bleeding even after that long...so it was definitely longer than the 6 weeks. I had my baby in 2007, and i still don't feel like having sex lol.

I got the ok from my doctor at 4 weeks but I waited till 10 weeks because I was scared of the pain.
Before that sex was the last thing in my mind.
My husband was very understanding because he saw everything when I had our baby and he knew it was no joke.
I wasn't in pain but just scared.

I only waited 2 weeks after the births of all 3 of my children. My husband was a little eager, LOL, but it was okay.

My husband was very understanding and a bit timid at first until I told him it was ok to be more agressive in the bed...
