Disney's 100 Years of Magic Celebration. What does that mean?

If you're having a 100 year celebration then that means that something significant happened in 1909 that is worth celebrating. But what is that? Walt Disney was born in 1901. The company was formed in 1923. So what exactly did Walt do at the age of 8 that is worth this big extravaganza?

I think they are just trying to make up something that sounds good to woo people back into their parks.

Any other thoughts?

Update:

But they also did a whole year birthday celebration for Walt in 2001.

Disney was born in 1901. Thats correct. But are they gonna say 109 years of magic celebration? No, they rounded to 100 years because it sounds better and they want to attract more people as if they are celebrating something special.

If you take out World War 1 and World War 2 it has been 100 years of magic.
