Is it just me or has the world gone mad?

Saw these 2 stories on yahoo and I just think the worlds gone insane.

Now in the case of the above - if the mother was that worried should she not have taken him to the hospital herself after being told they didn't do home visits?

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20090115/tuk-toddler-su...

And with this one - yes ok the sharps box should have been out of reach and not overfilled, but should the child not be being watched by the mother to stop it taking a sharp out of the box and then sucking on it? If the needle was just randomly on the floor then I can see their point but really!

I agree with you about the first story - why on earth didn't the mother ring for an ambulance?

I sometimes worry about the mentality of these people - it wouldn't surprise me if the mother had been on here asking "Where can I get my child's illness diagnosed and treated online?"

    Whatever happened to common sense?

Well read the bloody thing!!! The second one says that as the mother was holding her other son for an injection when the toddler leaned into a cupboard and put a needle in his mouth, unless she can see through cupboard doors, there was nothing she could do.

I've heard much worse similar stories. In this case, the cupboard should have probably been locked and (if it was in a sharps box) the box should have been securely closed, but as I say there have been much worse cases. This was a little bit of carelessness mixed in with bad luck and the fact that toddlers will be toddlers and do dangerous things.

I think it is 2 cases of bad parenting...and yes the world is also going mad, it's been down hill for a while now. Kids are not taught discipline because parents try to make deals with their kids instead of take authority.

  • You are quite correct in your statement.

The world has indeed gone mad, and unfortunately England seems to be leading the way.
