Pete Carroll really surprised me when .....?

he whined like a little child when Sanchez opted to go pro. I have never heard of a coach publicly denounce an athlete's decision to turn pro especially when that athlete is probably the number one pick in the draft. We are talking tens of millions of dollars here and Pete sounds selfish and way over the top. Your thoughts?

Update:

Well Little Tsunami Scott Wolfe the beat writer for the Trojans was at the news conference and he called Pete's actions pathetic. Sounds like you are the one that needs to do your homework.

Update 2:

Well J.J. you may be right but pro scouts are high on the kid. One never knows though in that who would have thought Flacco and Ryan would have such success in their first year as pros. I just never have heard of a coach really getting down on a player for turning pro.

Update 3:

Well I will admit I do not like Pete Carroll and the West Coast bias. It seems he gets a free ride for saying stupid things to promote USC in the polls. Remember, 'I don't understand computers.' What's not to understand when the Pac-10 doesn't have a championship game which gives a team a boost in the polls when it is against a quality opponent.

Update 4:

Okay folks then tell me in the history of the game when another coach has so vehemently come out to denounce a player's decision to turn pro. So this is ground-breaking territory and it is a good thing. I don't think so.

Update 5:

To J.J. , Sanchez will obtain a degree in communications this spring. Makes me wonder if y'all even follow this stuff.

Update 6:

To 'Appeal to Reason' you missed the point retard. Coach Carroll came off as 'peeved' about the entire matter. Get it ... peeved. Even another writer has said so much. That's not taking the high road. Now do you understand the question.

This is the same guy who rides an easy schedule from a weak conference every year. The sad thing is that even with the easy teams they play, they still lose to an unranked team every year. Shut up Pete Carrol, you already proved how much you know about the NFL, when you tried to coach the Patriots.

Sanchez is in no way, shape or form the number 1 draft pick in the NFL draft. The only reason he is the top number 2 QB choice is by process of elimination since the only other big name QB coming out is Matt Stafford. Don't be suprised though if he goes lower if an NFL scout finds another diamond in the rough like Flacco.

They don't call it the University of Spoiled Children for nothing. Mark Sanchez is not all that- I 'm glad Peter Carroll told it like it is. He will be turned out of the NFL in less than 3 years. Then what? No degree, maybe 1 mil in the bank, and nothing but USC war stories for the rest of his life? Lets face it the probability of his success in very low.

Sounds like you hate Pete Carroll or the Trojans. I don't care either way if you do or don't.

I doubt that Sanchez is the number one pick overall. But he might be a first round selection. Might. I don't know much about Sanchez. As a person who knows football and its players, maybe Carroll knows that Sanchez isn't ready, developmentally. Or it could be something else entirely.

He said "we". Maybe he and the other coaches agree that Sanchez isn't ready?

As much as I hate USC, Little Tsunami is right. Carroll didn't really whine like everyone wants you to believe. Everyone wants to make it into a big deal and it's really not. Wolfe was trying to get a big story and he did a great job of making one up.
