Serious football question about Eagles haters?

stats dont lie.

the repeated runs for the superbowl over the past decade (whether they went deep into the playoff rounds or not) say a ton about the team. there are teams in the league that havent won a playoff game in forever, yet the eagles put in respectable performances with a string of awful luck and a average at best receiving corps.

look at the serious injuries that have made those eagles runs for the ring that much harder. mcnabb has had a few bad ones over the past few years. andrews is hurt again, was hurt last year. buckhalter has had like 3 serious knee injuries that would have ended most players career, westbrook has played banged up all year, reggie brown out for several games, assante samuel hurt, kevin curtis had a sports hernia, etc etc

i have been an eagle fan since the mid eighties. i dont have a "second team" like most people do. it makes my skin crawl when someone says "i like the ravens but indianapolis is my second team". the eagles are the ONLY team i follow. no baseball. no hockey. no basketball.

the nfc east is always stacked. lots of talent. and a division that you normally have to fight for your life because the birds, the gmen, the skins, and the cowboys all are so competitive year in and year out.

so those fans are used to rooting against the other teams in the nfc east. we dont have a whipping boy like the lions or the raiders that will be a game you can scratch off the schedule early as a definite +1 in the standings.

so every eagles fan has a memory of a giants game that new york won, or a skins game that hurt one of our stars, or a dallas game that almost knocked us out of the playoffs...

its sports. we hate each other just like the yankee fans hate the red sox fans and the celtic fans hate the laker fans and buckeye fans hate wolverine fans.

but before anybody starts spewing crap about mcnabb not being any good, or the eagles not belonging in the playoffs... like i said, stats dont lie. the eagles are still playing and have beaten the best in the league this year to be where they are, so logically id have to say that the teams BELONGS where they are. their late season run has proven that they play tough when the chips are down. unlike some other teams that fold up like a newspaper as soon as they get late in the season.

and as i have stated in other posts, mcnabb was in the top 5 in the nfl for passing yards WITH NO STAR RECEIVER. the eagles had no receiver in the top 50 for catches. so how did mcnabb almost throw for as many yards as manning when mcnabb doesnt have a probowler like marvin harrison, a complement receiver like reggie wayne, or an under rated threat like dallas clark? how is he close behind warner who had fitzgerald, breaston, and a stud receiver named anquan boldin? mcnabb has never had a true threat at wr excpet terrible owens and that was a disaster. (but thank you dallas for adoppting our problem child. hope he stays out of the "skrip klub" with pacman)

check the stats boys... numbers dont lie. give the birds and big 5 the respect they deserve.

Not an Eagle hater here. I love Brian Westbrook because he was on my fantasy team and he seems like a good guy. I just wish he could stay healthy. Everyone hates the Eagles because they are up and down. We never know what to expect whether it be Donovan throwing a couple pics or throwing for four td's. There is no doubt in my mind that they will win this Sunday though. The Cardinals defense won't be good enough to stop the birds.

Not hate just observation. McNabb is marginally improved over the time this year he got benched, and the fans were roasting him around here. Now that his defense has rescued him and the offense is still struggling in the playoffs suddenly they are hailed as the second coming by so many bandwagon fans it is ridiculous. They are going against the best complete team in the NFC this week, and that is why their pitiful attempts to win a Superbowl will stop. McNabb is not the answer, and Reid was on the money to bench him earlier this year. This is the same guy, don't let him fool you.

Well I hate the Eagle fans not the Eagles. You guys were totally bashing McNabb and Reid after the Ravens game so thats my problem and now you guys praise them? Well not you but one of your recent questions was you wanted Gruden over Reid see what I'm talking about.

I don't hate the Eagles team....but,

I absolutely hate Eagles fans. They are the most obnoxious and stupid fans in all of sports. They boo their own team, there own quarterback and Santa Claus!

They are passionate morons that don't have a clue about football, run their mouths without thinking first and embarrass their own city and football club!

They whine about anything and everything. I wish the Eagles would move out of Philly, then maybe they could win the big one.

Ok you guys cheer when other teams players get hurt, you threw snow balls at Santa Claus, your arrogant on your team history, you guys are beyond pathetic in the way you treat visitors, you booed McNabb on his draft day, you blast him at the end of every season because he did not win the SuperBowl shall I go on,

Well my friend is and Eagles fan and my other friend is a patriots fan and the patriots fan is mad b/c they had a better record that most of the teams in the nfl and they did not make the playoffs and so i would have to agree you are right

The Bandwagon Philly fans annoy us, but you and Weapon X have been here for some times now.

We'd all have a lot more to say if anybody actually gave a rat's *** about the Eagles. Win a Super Bowl and maybe somebody will actually care about the yardbirds...I mean Eagles.
