Mobilizing National Guard BAH, Lease Question. Experience Only!?

WHen you mobilized as a single soldier, and submitted the DA Form 5960 for BAH, you had to turn in a lease, mortgage or rental agreement. Did your finance people require any LEASE to be notarized, or did they accept whatever you turn in. BAH for a mobing guardsman will be paid out per whatever zipcode is on that form.

My understanding of the requirment is that rental agreements (simple memorandums) must be notarized, but actual leases are fine. however...I also saw something else state that anything on plain everyday white paper must be notarized.

Your experiences please.

I live with my parents and to show I was paying rent they typed up a contract and had it notarized. That's my experiences. If I remember correctly when I went through SRP and pre deployment stuff with the guard, there was someone there that could notarize your contract if it needs one. SO if you are really unsure, bring what you have and they can tell you if it does or not before you turn it in.

I printed mine out (off line) because I didn't have one but it really doesn't matter because your BAH will be based on your zip and not how much rent you pay. And no, mine didn't need to be notarized.
