i installed vista onto my windows XP computer?
and now i cant find any of my old files. its like theyve simply vanished despite the installation process saying that it would simply put them into a folder for me

C:/Windows/Windows.OLD copy and paste the folder with you name on it.

you are able to set up Vista and "twin boot" with XP. in spite of the undeniable fact that, in case you come to a determination to enhance XP - do not purchase an improve disk and set up it over XP. continually decide for the great version. the reason being is that any corruption you have at present have on your OS will greater suitable than probably carry over into your new OS. enhancements are in no way recommended. continually format and reinstall from scratch. Your old XP file will be labelled 'Old disk structuer' on your hard drive.
