So will males get paid the same as females?
With the new bill that Obama passed yesterday, it says that women shall get paid the same as men for equal work.
Ok, well what if a woman is making more than a man? Will the compensate the man?
Will they have to disclose everyone's salary to everyone so that everyone knows what everyone else makes?
I am a contractor that works usually in Iraq. I can be fired for telling other employees what my salary is. How did she know what the others were making?
I know what they bill says and I know what the equal rights bill says. My point is that will it work for males? Particularly white males? Can I say that a woman is getting paid more than me for the same job and will they give me a raise?
Often with contracts, you get paid what you negotiated with the employer. It has nothing to do with anything else besides what they were willing to pay and what you were willing to accept. This bill is BS. She agreed to work for those wages.
So lets suppose that a man is working harder than a female and he gets paid more. So she screams and ends up suing the company.
If it was the reverse, the man is stuck because he knows the truth.
In the first way, the truth loses.

Does this mean that someone that has been with a company for, say 20 years, will get the same pay as the new gal, or the new gal gets the same pay as the guy that,s been there 20 years? And does that mean that when the top paid guy gets a raise, everybody gets a raise to match his pay scale?
Or, does that mean the "person" that does half the production of everyone else, gets paid the same?
How do you define equal work?
Does this "law" only apply to women?
Since CEO's don't do much "work", if a rank and file employee does equal "less work" do they get the same pay as the CEO?
I used to do packing and shipping, and the female worker had the same job title, but I did all the heavy lifting, and all she did was put labels on box's after I would hold them up so she could put labels on the lower ones. I didn't know what she got paid, and she didn't know how much I got, but if she was getting the same pay as me, that would be "fair"?(she couldn't operate the forklift, but didn't have too)
but is still required to be paid the same as me, just because she's female?
A guy, I can yell at, to "bust a move", but try yelling at a girl the same way, and you get production loss, due to the crying, what the hell?
And, if a business has a female worker, they must have place with a cot, or somewhere that she can "lay down" if needed, what if I needed to "lay down", I don't get a cot, or "lay down" time, WTF?

Lilly Ledbetter worked 25 years making far less than her own subordinates and somehow that was right? The courts said she was to late, but what the law says now is you can file a discrimination claim from the time you get your last pay check. The old law said you had to file from the time you took the job and the supreme courts told her so much. That's what the law is intended to rectify. It has nothing to do with what you can say to who and doesn't lower mens wages over or under womens wages.
How you discover someone elses wages doesn't enter into the picture with this law, but it should behooves companies to pay equally.
There is NO reason whatsoever a man should make more simply because he is male for the same job the either can perform equally. We're not talking about professional football players here.
Women are just as qualified in any office setting and in fact most jobs that don't require extraordinary physical strength.
Who said men should make more simply because we're born with a penis? Maybe if you're a porn star hung like an elephant perhaps you might earn more, but the cases where men should earn more are extremely limited. The law acknowledges that and makes it easier to enforce.

I hope not... Men work more days than women, and we don't get pregnant..
Men will always get paid more it's just a fact of life.
