Is there any way I can Siphon Gas safely?

I have a car that I want to siphon gas out of. Is there any way I can siphon gas out of it without sucking on the hose and risking ingesting the gasoline?

Go on down to your local auto supply outlet and purchase a siphon kit.

It's relatively inexpensive and it won't leave a funny taste in your mouth.

Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and look in the area that has kerosene heaters, one of the accessories for those heaters is a siphon hose that has a squeeze bulb on it, you stick the rigid tube in the car you want to siphon and the flexible hose in your empty container, squeeze the bulb 3-4 times until fuel is flowing, once the fuel starts flowing you don't have to squeeze anymore, it'll gravity flow. Same thing as a siphon kit at an auto parts store but likely about half the price!

Stick your siphon as deeply into the gas tank as it will go and put your thumb over it. Then, pull some of it out such that the hose is filled with gas. Let your thumb off.

The only downside to this is that the outside of whatever you use will be covered with gas. I guess it would be better than ingesting gasoline though.

They make hoses you can buy at any car store which include a ball designed for siphoning. They have a ball squeeze in them and it is really simple to use; put it in squeeze it up and let it flow. Or buy an evacuator.

**FYI** Don't use an electric pump, you risk losing your life

You can get a small pump. You connect hoses to each end. Thus able to drain the gas tank. But you need to have power at the area to plug the pump in

Sure, hook up an old electrical fuel pump and put one line in the tank and one in a gas can.

Man, suck on the hose if you get any gas in your mouth spit it out. or buy a small pump and use that.
