Ok so how long will my cat stay in heat?
I have a male cat thats like 11 years old and hes been neutured like his entire life...and i have a female cat thats less than a year old...lately she just hit puberty and is bugging my male cat to death to calm her hormones....and i wouldnt think it would matter since hes the only male she has access to and he cant get her pregnant ..and shes not acting mean shes just been making a weird purr i guess signaling to him shes horny lol i feel stupid giving this story but i dont feel the need to get her spayed when she cant get pregnant anyways i was just wondering when she will go out of heat?
I just dont understand how it can put a cat at such great risk...I mean 50 yrs ago cats werent be spayed or neutured and they were fine...?
&& there and still very popular animals...so it cant be that serious

I remember my cat doing the same thing, I got her fixed that week. If she ever does get out of your house you will find yourself responsible for 6 more lives. Do the responsible thing, get her fixed.

Unspayed cats are at risk of developing deadly cancers and infections of the reprodutive tract. having her spayed eliminates these risks. Pyometra is a deadly uterine infection which causes the uterus to literally fill with pus causing it to swell to up to 100 times it's normal size. The uterus erupts releasing the poisonous pus into her system and kills her if not treated immediately. Treatment is a spay operation with added complications. Females are susceptible to it everytime they have a heat cycle.
February is National Spay/Neuter month and vets are giving discounts on the operations. please get her in ASAP. Here is an article on Pyometra you should read.

To answer your question, she will have a heat cycle every couple of weeks lasting from 3-7 days and eventually will stay in heat as the longer days of summer come.

It is still important to have her spayed. She will continue to cycle in and out of heat every few weeks. This puts a lot of stress on her system and is also very annoying to live with. She will benefit from a lot of other health benefits like reduced mammary cancers and of course the elimination any kind of uterine cancer.

She will go into heat on and off until you get her spayed. lol do you really want to put up with her doing that? It would drive me nuts.
