How many women really want a pajamagram or teddy bear for Valentine's Day?

I keep seeing these commercials encouraging men to buy these for their sweethearts and the women are oohing and awing over them. Personally, I find it insulting. Especially the teddy bears. Women are not simple minded and we are not children.

One of my daughters once said that a man that gives her a book is a man that would impress her. I have to agree. What do you all think?

WTF is a pajamagram? We have enough teddy bears living in our house thanks to the kids. I'd be happy with some damn good chocolate, the real damn good stuff. And I can't wait for him to shave on Saturday and throw some cologne on after a good shower. (Ok, I hope so.) And I want some GOOD kisses. Not half-*** everyday ones. Like the kind when we first met. (The first one was literally 3 hours or more, a sunset passed during, and it was only a kiss. Was incredible.)

    That's what I want.

And your daughter, is a smart girl. Just tell her as long as it's not a cookbook LOL.

I honestly believe that teddy bears are cop out gifts, they grabbed them from CVS or Walgreens on their way home, and they frankly didn't put a lot of thought into it. HOWEVER, if it's a Build-A-Bear that's made to suit you (like it displays your favorite hobby) it's a cute gift, but definitely not what I myself would want. To each their own.

My guy knows how much I love chocolate, so he always gets me some. But it isn't the "guess-the-mystery-filling" kind that most buy at the last minute, he goes out of his way to find the stuff I like.

Sentimentality is huge for me, along with appealing to what the person likes. My guy got me a copy of A Clockwork Orange for my birthday this past year - it's one of my favorites, and I had only mentioned it to him once... A YEAR EARLIER. The fact that he remembered, blew me away.

I would be extremely impressed if a man got me something that appealed to my mind or my interests as opposed to the corporate Valentine's Day bullshit.

I think the teddy bear is cute. If its personalized, even better. I had a boyfriend give me a cowboy teddy bear because i rode horses.

My boyfriend is my teddy bear, when he gave me one, it was to be a substitute for when he's not there.

If i got a book, it would need to be something I'd really like. I'm picky with my reading material, and not very predictable.

I agree, I would expect a man 2 get creative with his gifts and every gift should be given after viewing the personal interests of the loved one

crammed animals are pointless after age 6, except your lady buddy collects them. A considerate present that shows you certainly pay attention to her and pay interest to her likes and dislikes is greater desirable. no longer understanding your lady buddy, i will no longer be able to allow you recognize what to get her, yet a teddy bear is cliched and familiar.
