It is the heater plug light.
When starting a diesel engine you should always wait til the heater plug light goes out before starting the engine.
If its coming on any other time it is indicating a fault, probably with the heater plugs.
hope this helps

If your car runs on deisel its the glow plug light. Sounds most likely from what you say, if you try and turn the car on when its on it wont start because the glow plugs are warming, you have to wait for it to go off then turn it on. Perfectly normal and cars are made this way, in some very modern diesels like Fords you dont have to wait. If you dont have a deisel then the garage should know what it is but sometimes they miss the most simple explanations such as the one above.

It is the glow-plug (or combustion chamber pre-heater plug) light.
You should know that - its the one that you have to wait until it goes out before you start the engine on any diesel vehicle.
You probably need to replace the glow plugs, or maybe the glow-plug relay. Any garage that knows diesel engines will be able to help.

It really IS the glow plug warning light.
If it's on while you're driving then either the glow plug control module is sending the warning light false readings...or you need to get the glow plugs replace.

It's the engine management warning on the jtd engine. You need to get the car plugged in for diagnosis.
