Java Monster and other energy drinks?

OK I love the Monster Java drinks (Original or Mean Bean). How bad are they REALLY (the taurine, panax ginseng bla bla). My gripe is that they are expensive. Are there any other energy drinks with a good kick (a healthy kick, if possible) that don't taste like pee? Thanks.

    there is xenergy and vitamin energy they are both healthy and supposedably taste good
