Does this sum up Ronald Reagan?

I think it's fairly accurate, wouldn't you say?
I'm not a fan of FDR either for the record. Reagan is hugely overrated however.

You clearly are under 30 and dont remember Reagan. That is ok you listen to everything your teachers tell you.
Just remember Obama is not only setting us up for a failure he has successfully wasted the most money by an American President in the shortest amount of time...Ever.

Seems right on to me. I was a student at UCLA when, as governor, he imposed tuition at the UC system for the first time in its history. Later, I was a young, married, father of one struggling financially in the Reagan recession of the early 1980s when as president he ordered the Food Stamp program to halt distribution of free cheese. He was totally against working people, and the needs of anyone not in the upper income brackets were invisible to him. When he hosted Death Valley Days on TV, General Electric was the sponsor, and they certainly told him what to say. I believe he did the same as president, always good at reading a script, totally out of touch with the reality of ordinary Americans.

Now replace "Reagan" with "Obama" and you jut found comedy.
Infectious optimism, Charisma, Personable, someone you could have a beer with? You do know that these exact words were used with Obama right? Just replace the IranContra thing with some Pakistan thing or the Porkulus and Bam! I'm still laughing.
I guess that Dems feel the same about Reagan that we feel about Obama (except we never equated Reagan to something divine).http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/

Never in a million! Next to Jefferson Davis, he was the best President ever before he was upstaged by George W. Bush!

Yup, that's basically it. He also began the US on its slide towards third-world status by skewing taxes towards the middle class, destroying unions, and doubling the entire pre-existing national debt.
In fact, when Reagan left office he had the highest ratings of any president thus far in US history. His predecessor, Jimmy Carter, had the lowest. But today Carter's presidency is rated higher than Reagan's, and Carter's numbers are still rising while Reagan's are dropping.

Ever since 1979, I've been saying "I don't get it." Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't see the greatness that others claim to see.
