(poll) Golly or Cabbage Patch - Which is the most racially offensive?

Choose which doll offends the most: http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc91/rearda/?ac...

Apparently, sales of golliwog dolls have soared since Carol Thatcher's 'private' conversation brought them back into the limelight. But I am wondering what all the fuss is about, when the ugliest dolls on the market (eg: Cabbage Patch, or Bratz) are mainly white.

They should make a doll of Carol Thatcher - As long as it's absolutely butt ugly and has a huge mouth the likeness should be amazing.

It's sad that so many people make it about dolls when they must surely know it's about so much more.

You are right. The most offensive looking dolls are without doubt bratz and cabbage patch . Can you imagine the uproar though if they changed the colour of cabbage patch and bratz to black dolls! On the subject of dolls here is something that should provoke some thought. Did you know you can buy dolls that are dressed to resemble christian nuns? There are no complaints about them being offensive to christians but what do you think would happen if someone produced a doll portraying the prophet mohammed?

when I was little my favourite programme was playschool I finally got Jemima and I took the doll everywhere. In my little collection I also had a tiny tears and some golly dolls.

As I got older I was a barbie fan, although cabbage patch kids always scared me after seeing a clip of chuckie.

Why anyone would find toys offencive when they are so well loved and give children so much comfort is beyond me.

I saw a place where golliwogs were sold during last summer. I'm not saying where in case the PC mob decide to take offence. I was politiely told off by the owner of the shop who insisted that to avoid trouble he had to cal them Gollies.

What the heck is the matter with this Country it's bad enough with council snoops exceeding their powers and misusing anti-terrorist legistlation but also we have a thought police in the form of a creepy PC People who will report anything as long as it puts someone in the s.h.i.t.e

You mean you can still buy a golliwog dol ?.......... omg there will be an outcry now and they will be removed from the shelves as soon as some nutter complains LOL.

Edit.......... the cabbage patch is quite ugly LOL

Cabbage patch dolls would be racist if they were black skinned and called cabbage patch n*****s. The offensiveness is in the name the word w** as in gollyw** is highly offensive.

I really dislike the golly. Its like the black and white minstrels, a parody of black culture. I'm not black but why can't the Daily Mail readers see this.

    I also dislike Barbie etc.

    Sorry for my contrary opinion.

Why should gollywogs be racially offensive? They are a childs toy.

Neither....they're only dolls......racism is in the eyes of the PC beholder.

Neither, they are both just toy`s and how anyone can find them offensive is beyond me....
