To everyone that has seen the new Friday the 13th?

Did you like it at all. What did you think? I loved it even though it was nothing really like the old ones. Is one of the top 5 though? Just curious.

: ( Look, I have to be honest with you. As a fan, I felt disrespected by the movie. It seemed to me the drug/sex/joke scenes tried to steal the show from Jason, horribly bad jokes and bad timing of jokes as well........ : (

I was somewhat embarrassed that this was even called Friday the 13th. I really had great expectations about this movie----I thought it was going to be a more serious movie, rather than a borderline lay it on thick comedy-horror. It had some good scenes/kills, and some stuff was funny(but way overkill with the jokes/drugs). Even the actors seem like they came out of US magazine as models.

I find that most of the originals were better. Part 4--the Final Chapter has to be my favorite---and I think I might watch it tomorrow because it will help me forget this "remake" and remember why I truly like/appreciate a darn good Friday the 13th. This new movie is somewhere in the bottom of my list, and something is stopping me from calling it the worst but I don't know why.........I guess I have a hard time calling any of them bad, but geez.....

I thought it was terrific. I've been a fan of the original series for quite a long time, but I have to say, this comes in as #1 for me (I'm not including the first one because they are two completely different movies though). Jason is finally scary, brutal, and most importantly, human. I loved the new mask, I loved the new actors and actresses (especially Danielle Panabaker) and I just felt that the overall tone of the movie was stressed. The kills werent over the top, but rather quite realistic and I even loved the characters that I hated (Trent).

Platinum Dunes does a great job with their remakes. I thought Texas Chainsaw, The Hitcher, Amityville Horror, and now F13 were all better than the originals. I just wish they got to do Halloween instead of Zombie. That would have been awesome.
