in Naama bay you've got everything around you.. You can go clubbing in Pacha, Hard Rock Cafe, or Little Buddah, and if you're into drinking you can go to Camel Bar or Mexican Bar.. and in the morning you can go Snorkeling, Diving, Or go on Safari.. You can always ask the guys in the reception, they will certainly help you out, and suggest the best tours.. have fun and enjoy it, Sharm is the best..

By the way, there are no pyramids in Sharm el Sheikh.. I'm sorry to disappoint you..

I went to Egypt a few years ago and stayed in Luxor. If you can get there and find a nice hotel to stay in (The winter Palace is nice) then there is loads to do if you're interested in the historical culture. There are 2 temples i the main town, there is the Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Valley of the Artists which are where all the tombs and mummies are. There is a cruise you can take on the Nile with dinner and music. There is a 'traditional' dinner party you can go to with music, dancing and camels and lots of little market stalls where you can buy some great stuff.

The pyramids are in Giza and if you're not staying in Cairo, you need to get transport there and then join a tour group out to Giza.

At the coastal regions, there is SCUBA diving, snorkelling, beaches etc. They usually have someone in the hotel from your travel company who will try to sell you tours when you arrive anyway, so it's worth checking with them.

You don't need a seperate visa for the pyramds, because it's all the same country, but you'll need your visa for Egypt which should have been done with your holiday booking......if not you need to contact the Egyptian embassy in your home country and send off for the documents to make sure you have all the right paperwork before you leave. Bare in mind, even if you pay for your Visa some countries will charge you an additional "tax" when you arrive and another when you leave, just because they can!!!!! I can't remember if Egypt was one of them, but Thailand and Hong Kong def did! It can be quite expensive too!

Be careful in some parts about the clothes you wear so you don't offend anyone and be careful of men wanting to buy you for camels!!! Some places the travel reps will advise women not to go out alone, take it as good advice and stay safe!!!

Don't forget your currency, sun cream and camera and have a fab trip!

    xx

Oh my God has no one mentioned the bellydancing entertainment?!?!?! There is a place called Alf Leyla Wa Leyla (which i think translates to 1001 nights )and they have shows called Fantasia with some of the best Bellydancers, if your lucky Tito will be there when you are (very famous male bellydancer), enjoy lots of shops, shisha and cool drinks under the stars! All this for about £2 entry cheap as chips!

I went diving while I was out there lots of fun considering I cant swim, try and make friends with a local and they can get you cheaper prices on excursions with Egyptian discount ;)

and if you want to dive or go to Cairo for the pyramids then you will need a visa which you can get at the airport for about £12 i think it was. But i never got asked if i had one for diving but can imagine Cairo is more strict.

I went the last week in June and believe me it is HOT HOT HOT drink lots of water and take mass amounts of sun lotion

But i had a wicked time and cant wait to go back and Egyptian locals were also v friendly

You will only need a visa if you go out of sharm,

Like there are trips to see the pyramids and you will need a visa for that. When i was in egypt we went quad biking in the desert and it is the most amazing thing i have ever done ! There is also scuba diving.. There was never a moment that we were bored ! It my favourite country to be in.. Make it good while it lasts.

Great Pyramid-try to go inside as well

    Camel back ride to sphinx

Museum of Antiquities, pay extra to see the mummies

    Step Pyramid

    Nile Cruise

The above are in and around Cairo. No special visa, but you'll probably have to buy tickets for each. I went a LONG time ago, so i can't remember the regulations that well.

Also, try to go to Abu Simbel in the South and to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. These are a long way from Cairo so you'll have to book hotels there but it will be well worth it. I regret being unable to see them-i was only in Cairo for a few days.

although its not the best time to go there as it will be hot,

in sharm there is not much to do, u'll swim, make safari in the desert, dive, & at night enjoy the night clubs & cafes

the Pyramids are in cairo so u'll have to travel either by car for 8 hours or by plane for an hour, if u got the visa to egypt then u can go anywhere there

in cairo there is much places to go takin into consideration it will be hot at this time

also if u like monumnets a lot u could travel to luxor there are 1/8 of the world monuments there u will love it

    enjoy yr trip

a small thing to be cautious about............when sitting in open area cafes u may find a tour agent coming to u to offer u some safari and barbique bargains ..........some of them r good ..........but take care and be patient when u r choosing..........and try to discuss with them the fees ....

i visited sharm 2 times.......its a real piece of heaven in da morning more than at night......

--- donot forget to book the glass boat to have a nice view of the corals of the red sea

-- safari trips r cool ..(only if the buggies r HONDA and not manual driving)

--- if u want to see da pyramids ...u can do that only if u r travelling back home from cairo....its neary for free u can have a fast trip b4 goin to the airport.."no prob if u contact me for more info "

--- pacha , hardrock n budah bar .. etc r very cool by night ....but u would stand in a looooong queue to enter there so dont go late.

--- western belly dance is a lovely thing to be seen in the desert by night...just ask the receptionist for that...its a cool experience in the heart of the desert to be sitting in large tents

--- Alf Leyla Wa Leyla is a cool place also to watch bellydancers ..there is a male bellydancer there(if u like this ).....also waterpipes r traditional smoking tool......souvenirs r also available...

i dont know hw long could u stay in cairo ,,, there r more staff to be done in cairo......sharm is just a resort not historical place

if you remain ion sharm you do not need a visa, however if you intend to go to visit the pyramids you will need to buy a visa on entry will cost you around £10 or $15 or Euro, you must pay in £ or $ and you will not be allowed to pay in egyptian. you can travel to cairo by bus or car about 4 hours each way but i wouldn't advise it. or you can travel by plane. IN cairo tou can arrange to see the cairo museum where the treasures of Tutankhamen are kept and the Giza, the pyramids and sphinx. to get to Luxor is really to difficult from sharm. there is only one flight a week. in sharm itself there are many night clubs and restaurants and of course it is divers paradise.

you don't need a visa for the pyramids.. Or much of anything. Go to local shops. An out door market, a perfume shop, any shop that's not really for tourist (they're more authentic). Visit the pyramids, and travel down the Nile, it's relaly fun.

The roadsides at the edge of towns are a fascinating place to do a bit of botany - and if you can find a rubbish tip it as heavenly, the variety of plants is amazing. Turning over loose stones will often reveal a scorpion!

But some people apparently spend their time trudging around old ruins. Odd!
