Drop in blood pressure - I feel weird, is this normal?
My blood pressure has been running in the 140/100 range, unregulated, since I lost my medical insurance. I recently had to see a doctor due to a bout of bronchitis. When she took my blood pressure it was 170/113. She agrees that it was almost certainly due to being sick, but if its been running in the 140/100 range I should be on medication again. She put me on a diuretic and it dropped, literally overnight, to 112/72.
I feel woozy, deflated, and a bit out of it. A family member told me that's probably due to the immediate drop in blood pressure and my body not having re-acclimated to the lower pressure.
Is this normal? How long can I expect to be feeling weird like this, or should I be talking to the doctor again already?

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Most people got this. It takes several months or more to adjust to new low BP. Few ways to avoid the side effect: talk with doctor to reduce BP gradually, herbals; etc.

You should call your doctor and let him know what is going on. You could feel like this for a few days but I would call and make sure.

drink more water, keep a log of your bp, and see your doctor. call 911 if you don't improve.
