When I hear Great Britain, I think of two things.The royal family and the military.Without the word royal in their title, Britain would just be another ordinary island country.With maybe a decent military.Not including Japan,since they have royal family also.

No not at all, the royal family is what every other country see's or whole nation as, the main part of our culture. Whoever says that they don't do anything is slightly wrong, they can't show any political views but the politicians have to pass some things past them (such as going to war etc).

And what do you propose that we replace them with. ?. A failed ex PM or some over paid under talented singer or actor ?., Then what power do you propose to give them. Where are you going to house them it won't be in some council house on some grotty estate. If you think that the Royal Family are a waste of time and expensive just wait till the "people's choice" gets power.

I have no sympathy for inherited blood lineage who never worked for those silver spoon positions, they are parasites.
