El Cid Marina Hotel in Mazatlan, anyone been here?

We are going here in March and would like input from anyone who has been here recently.

1) Our room is booked through our timeshare, but I am wondering if they have an all inclusive option available and can I pick the days I want to do it?

2) How bad is the 'chair saving' game at this hotel?

3) Do they have a DJ that cranks tunes all day, or is it (hopefully) a nice quiet and relaxing pool area?

4) We love to venture off property and dine out; any good restaurant recommendations?

THANKS! (Gracias!)

this is the top of the line hotel i have stayed there many times and LOVED it. they have a awesome club located down stairs in the basement area, at night everything comes alive. during the day its relaxing an peaceful. the best place to eat breakfast is across the street. (cant remember the name of the restaurant) if your looking for a great club other than the one at the hotel you should really stop in to Valenti nos. as for your time share option and wanting to switch the days, im not sure on that one we always bought the package deal through the hotel. i hope you enjoy your stay in Mexico!

My best friend and his wife stayed there. At the same time, we stayed at the other one down the road a bit.

While the wives were enjoying themselves on the grassy area near the waterway and pool, we rented a sailboat and went sailing. They didn't mention anything about any loud noises and such upon our return..

We had lunch there. Nice.... sort of reminded me of that old movie, Casablanca.

We also rented an exclusive sport fishing boat for the four of us with captain and crew member. Had a great time taking turns each time one of the rods got a hit. We all managed to bring in a very big dorado.

Take a run down to Ernie Tomato's..within walking distance of the other El Cid, not the marina. Great food, great drinks.....

Sorry, can't help you on #1 and #2.

Go to TUG or redweeks and check out their forums. They address El Cid.
