Are you guy's planning on killing the last innocent that year? Can't it wait until after the new year?

I don't know, but I'm certainly going to be careful. A lot of conspiracy freaks are buying into this gibberish. There's an entire shelf at my local Borders dedicated to 2012 conspiracy books.

It's from the Mayan calender. Basically there are three calenders that all have their winter solstice on that date. Time was measured in the short count. Earths 365 days orbit around the Sun. The age count, 1/12 of the star constellations. And the long count, our solar systems orbit around the galaxy. (sorry forgotten how long but its a very large number). Like the second, minute and hour hands of a clock, they all line up at midnight on 21st december 2012 on the winter solstice.

The glyphs for that date do not say the world is going to end. It hints that time will stand still for a short period and then restart. What ever that means. Who knows maybe its just a calender adjustment like our leap years with an extra day in Feb every 4 years. But definitely not the end of the world. The clock is complete, it just restarts.

2012 could be the end of the age, but not the world. Think about what you hear on the news these days and you know something has to give. Too many countries now have nuclear power. The temptation to push that button may become too much for some.

God assures us in the Bible that the earth will be here forever. There may be many changes but it will still be here. If anyone reads Revelation you can see that much of the population will be gone during the tribulation events that are listed. Math is not my strong subject but the numbers add up to the billions or 2/3 of the world population.

People who keep worrying about population control; worry no more. It will soon take care of itself. Not a nice prospect.

This is not the end. The future will be bright after that 7 years of hell on earth. http://www.armageddonangelsufos.com/

So many questions about this.. I am starting to get bored.. Who said it will end anyway?

The Mayans said that it is the end of the world as we know it, NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. Or to quote it more accurately, it is the end of an age..

THE WORLD WILL NOT END on 2012. Hell, we are not even sure of the Mayans got it right.. Sure, we can cross-reference with other advanced ancient cultures like Sumer and Egypt and find that there can be similar inscriptions stating that something will terminate on Dec212012.. But none say that the world will end on that date.

I have to admit I am pretty excited about that date. Some say that the grand planetary alignment on that day will enable the gravitational force from the center of the Milky Way to awaken something in the genetic structure of human beings, AND, enable humans to live a better life. It is some sort of a "real change". Some say that humans will shift their priorities towards more useful and noble aspects of life in contrast to our shallow and self-serving agendas that we have today.. That's what they say. I hope that is true. Although we are all aware that a lot will not like it because they benefit from the present world's rotten system.

The world will not end.., hopefully.

Who says the world ending in December 2012?

And how could they possibly know that as a fact?

All previously predicted dates for the world to end have come and gone and nothing happened except that the people making the prediction were left with egg on their face.

There is no reason to think 2012 will be any different.

According to Hindu Mythology The Kali-yuga

lasts for 432,000 years and we have already passed through 5,000 years only. Five hundred years ago Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared, He is an incarnation of God, Krishna, and He started the sankirtana movement, the movement of the chanting of the holy names of God. He said that a golden age could be created during the next 10,000 years even though it is Kali-yuga [the Iron Age].

As for the end of the world, the Vedic scriptures inform us the creation of the universe is a cyclic affair. It is created, it exists for some time, and then it is destroyed. So there is the "end of the world" but then everything is created again… So it's an eternal cycle of creation and destruction. We have all the details and times as well. I have mentioned two ages [Kali and Satya-yugas], there are actually four, Satya-yuga [1,728,000 years], Tretya-yuga[1,296,000 years], Dvarpa-yuga[864,000 years] and Kali-yuga[432,000 years], so

the total, a "Divya-yuga" is 4,320,000 years. So there are 1,000 Divya-yugas in one day of Lord Brahma [the topmost person in thisuniverse] everything [except some of the higher planets including theone on which Lord Brahma lives] is destroyed at the end of Lord Brahma's day by a great fire and a great flood. Then for the period of

Lord Brahma's night [another 1,000 DIvya-yugas or 4,320,000,000 years] there is no creation.

When Lord Brahma's night is over he initiates the creation again and the cycle starts again. So this devastation at the end of Lord Brahma's day is called pralaya. It means partial devastation. There is also a maha-pralaya or a complete devastation at the end of Lord Brahma's life. He also lives for about 100 years like us but instead of having 24 hour days his days are 4,320,000,000 years long… So at the end of his life everything in the universe is destroyed. But it is cyclical as well. It is described that Maha-Visnu [God] is lying on the causal ocean and when He breathes out all the universes are created and when he breathes in all the universes are destroyed… So one breath of God equals 4,320,000,000 * 2 * 365 * 100 earth years. This number is the total duration of the universe…

    It is a big hoax.

According to Hindus, we are in Kal-Yuga, the era of death. It has started with death of Lord Krishna; that is about 5000 years back. As per the scriptures the age of Kal-Yuga is some thing like 5 billion years. Out of this 5 billion years, only 5000 years have passed.

So enjoy. nothing is going to happen in 2012.

Because people think (for many many reasons, religious, scientific etc) that Planet X is heading towards us, it won't actually make contact with Earth (supposedly) but will be close enough to disrupt our entire ecosystem and weather patterns. Which will have disastrous consequences. However from most sites I have checked out it will not happen for at least another 100 years.
