If a job makes you leave early after putting in a 2 week notice is that the same as being fired?

I am thinking of putting in a 2 week, maybe even longer, notice that I will be quitting my job this late summer. I wondered if my job was to excuse me early (I have heard of this happening to my friends before, but no one at this job specifically) and stopped my pay on the day they excuse me, wouldn't that be the same as firing me? If so, then wouldn't that make me eligible for unemployment?

In a legal sense, if you have been unemployed, much before your notice period expires, you are entitled for unemployment benefits.

But, if your resignation is shown in the relieving order, then you are not eligible for unemployment benefits.

If you are in the US and in a "work at will" job (not part of a union or working under a contract) then giving notice is generally a professional courtesy. It is the "right" thing to do if you are considering using the company you are working for as part of your reference. I decided to leave because... as opposed to I was fired because...

Work at will literally means you can leave at any time for any reason, and your company can fire you for the same. Some companies will say thanks, pack up now. Unless they are legally required to pay you through your notice, then it is very unlikely they will. And depending on the laws where you are working, it may make you ineligible for unemployment.

it somewhat is complicated to categorise animals killing themselves as suicide, even while they make a option to do something that takes their lives. Whales will sea coast themselves yet is it suicide? in all probability not, lots extra possibly there is something incorrect with them internally. I had a fish as quickly as that consistently jumped out of the fish bowl, actually 3-4 situations an afternoon. substitute into he committing suicide? sure yet we stored putting him decrease back and he stored leaping out. I placed him in a pond in our backyard and he remains in there. So he wasn't committing suicide, he substitute into attempting to get out of someplace that he did not choose to be. Now i'd agree that they take part in passive suicide. as an occasion, while 2 older dogs stay mutually and one dies. from time to time the different refuses to consume or drink till they die. So evidently that they are depressed over the shortcoming of the different and reason themselves to die. even though if, that's not possibly suicide and very an animal not desirous to consume or drink through fact they don't understand the place the different is. So i'd say no, they don't dedicate suicide in the comparable way as people do. they only have a constrained means and attempt to alter something of their difficulty.

No - whether your employer allows you to work the two weeks or not, you're leaving by your own choice.
