he might be hot or he might just be thirsty try always having water available for him. he might be hot if he's got a long fur coat. try giving him a nice haircut if thats the case.

    Panting all the time?

I'd get the dog to the vet to rule out anything medical, but if the dog is not being exercised, trained and socialized on a regular basis, the panting is probably the result of pent up energy and stress.

So take to the vet. Make sure he's healthy and then get him on a good program for exercise and training.

ALL the time? They should only pant when hot or exhausted. If your dog truly never stops panting, I would think you either live in a very hot climate, or your dog is overweight or has heart problems.

Overweight dogs pant a lot more.

If you have a Husky or Alaskan Malamute in South Florida where it's hot, that would explain it. Maybe you keep your in an area in your home that is too hot. That's the reason why dogs pant,.... to cool off.

Another reason for a dog to pant excessively apart from being hot to cool down, is when they're anxious. I only know from my nervous greyhound who does this when being around crowds and when there's loud noises like from fireworks.

Dogs pant for the same reason we sweat.

    1. Being overheated.

    2. Being thirsty.

    3. Being excited / anxious.

    4. Being uncomfortable, or in pain.

They also pant when they need to relieve themselves.

From my experience, dogs pant when their hot, stressed or in pain.

Have your vet answer this question. Panting can mean a lot of things, if the ambient temperature doesn't warrant it.

Dogs don't sweat. They pant to regulate their temperature.

maybe he is, or maybe he's stressed, or just thirsty! Try a vet.
