What size cake do I need?
I'm making the cake myself, and I'm having about 80 quests.
I imagine a three tiered cake, but I don't know if that's overdoing it or not.

Get a wilton cake decoration book there is a chart in there.Find the shape cake you have and size and it tell you how to cut the cake and how many pieces you will get out of it ..Also remember wedding is cut small it is for your guess to taste not make a meal out of it.

The 3 tier cake I was going to get was supposed to feed 72 people. I think it was a 10" square on the bottom with an 8" square on top of that & a 6" round on top.

I'd go with a cake that is two layers, yet still fairly large.
