Will lack of work experience make a difference?

I am 19 years old and applying for my first job. (I know that a little old to just be starting my first job) I am applying at a grocery store and I am wondering if my lack of any work experience will have any major affect on whether or not they will hire me.

At 19 with no experience, and probably just about to leave for college, you will have a really tough time finding work. Whether you are going to college or not, we as employers have only an application to look at, and this is what I would see!

It wouldn't to me when I hire. I *want* someone with very limited or no experience so they can be trained and not come with preconceived notions. Like "Well at my last job we did it a different way." I get rejection letters for second jobs saying I have too much experience. Don't forget to call the store back and ask on the status of your application. That's good follow-up and will make your name stick in their heads. It's not all about the experience.
