How do you feel about the Mom showing up to base with her kids?

She made a commitment to serve in the Military. She took all the benefits that come with being in the Military and now that it's not convenient anymore she wants to back out. I don't believe for a second that her family wouldn't be able to help her out with her kids. What did she think was gonna happen when she enlisted!?

PB, I kind of agree with you. The rub is is the IRR. As rare as it is, you can get called back up. I am sure she never had a family care plan and her husband is a ...I'm not going to say it. I understand he has deployed to Iraq too, however, a contract is a contract. Honestly, I may have missed it, but she must have been in a critical MOS for them to do that. If that was the case, she should have gotten paperwork to remind her of that when she got out. I know I did when I retired. they can still call me back (national emergency only) up to age 55. I would still go. For her to sit there on TV and say she has "done her time" is a crock and I do not feel sorry for her and neither should the army just because she got in the press. Not good. This is a straight up snitch *** move. She signed up for the military. In high school, we signed up a kid for the military as a joke, but this situation is entirely different. She is like a farmer who loves corn, but isn't willing to plant or harvest the seeds. She is like a politician who wants to be elected, but thinks campaigning is too hard. She is coming off IRR and trying to get out of being deployed. They should assign her to the unit and have Child Protective Services look after her kids. I'm sure the husband would show up quickly.

Too many leeches, usually female sign up for money, insurance, dental and medical then try to act abused when assigned to duty which is made perfectly clear upon induction. I hope the woman is prosecuted. Her worthless husband's excuse for not taking care of his own children? He travels a lot! Good God!
