I need help finding some symbols for a tattoo.?

Question

Okay, I'm seventeen, and I'm getting my first tattoo. Just yesterday my Great Grandfather died... And my sister and I have decided to get tattoos in his honor. So my sister is getting the birth mark he had on his foot that ran in his family.

And for myself, since it's my first tattoo, I want it to address the fact that I believe when doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. I was molested when I was younger, and raped about a year ago. I was abandoned by my mother, and my father wants nothing to do with us. One night I was decided to kill myself, but couldn't go through with it, because I realized how hard it would be on my sister. Soon after I was diagnosed with sever manic depression. And then just now my Great Grandfather's death.

Anyhow... I want something that symbolizes that no matter how hard life gets, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I want it to symbolize that no matter what, I'll always have my sister.

Wow it seems that you have been through alot in such a short life. I'm happy that you harbor the strength to continue and hope that you always reflect and think before considering to hurt yourself in any way. if i were you i would get an infinity symbol.
