Why can't atheists be interested in learning about other religions or asking questions about them? Anyone can. Perhaps you need to show a little tolerance and acceptance of other faiths/beliefs.

Why so ignorant of straightforward definitions and facts?!!

ATHEIST - someone who does not believe in a God – any God – not just the Christian one. But that does not mean they do not hold strong moral or religious beliefs! They can follow any religion that does not have a god and there are a lot of those!!

Like BUDDHISM – Religious teaching from Buddha and his followers that by destroying greed, hatred and delusion (the cause of all suffering) man can attain perfect enlightenment!!

Add christians and muslims together and they amount to just under a third of the world population the majority of the rest is made up of atheists and religions without gods!! So they are in the majority here!!!

But what do you not understand about this being an open forum?!!!

Surely you lack the tolerance and intellect to discuss and debate on a public forum - so feel free to leave!!

But why not stay, learn some tolerance, grow your intellect and in the process become a much better person!!!!

Its a club now is it? Sorry, but regardless of religious affiliation or lack there of, most people are spiritual in one way or another. Saying atheists have no right to discuss spiritual matters shows how narrow your views on the topics at hand truly are. Everyone has the right, constitutionally, to have opinions about the church, afterlife, god, etc and to express those views freely. If you want to live in a world where no one can express opinions that are different from the accepted main stream then maybe you should move to another country. Go live under Kim Jung Il for a while and then tell me how you feel. The longer I live as an atheist the more I am convinced that all people, regardless of race, background, upbringing, criminal history, sex, gayness, religious or not have something to bring to the table. ALL of us, all people should want to share our ideas freely and be proud of the fact that we can do so by not trying to stifle or insult someone else who believes differently than you do. At the end of the day, you probably don't know what you are talking about anyway. Making gross generalizations about large groups of people are always a dangerous thing to do and a terrible mistake.

That made no sense. The reason atheists keep coming on here is because they are people, and people tend to come on this website. The yahoo rules dont say no atheists allowed. Why do republicans keep coming on here? And you know what, maybe atheists need to share their views because the world might be a little less crazy if religious fanatics didn't go around committing mass murder in the name of some god. And dont you insist upon god? There is no difference.

Why is this question still asked? Don't the askers know it's been asked a gazillion billion trillion times? So many times that if I had a dollar for each time I'd have the US deficit in cash?

Yeah. I have an interest in religion - so what? My mind's open to learn. What about yours?

    yeah

i hve an interest in others views on spirituality

    is that a crime?

is that something an atheist is not alowed to have because religious people are feeling a bit threatened by the fact that atheists can and will listen to others, when they cant and wont?

The search function is your friend. You could of saved yourself 5 points and a lot of humiliation by realising just how often this lame question gets asked.

Next time, think 'search' then ask a decent question.

I am studying the symptoms of schizoid delusional mental disorder dear.

The uneducated fundies expressing themselves here make a nice population for this study.

I have a lot of interest in Homer Simpson on TV, but he doesn't really exist. do you think I have doubts in my disbelief there?

no, if anything, this pertains to an interest in what other people think. we try not to just take a position and isolate ourselves from debate and challenge thereafter.

I have an interest in seeing nonsense challenged, especially when those who believe it want social influence. Stop voting, having children, or any other social influence, and I'll leave you alone. Deal?
