In Ohio, what is the difference between a moped license and a moped permit.?

I currently have a permit and a friend told you can drive after its dark with a license. Any other restrictions that are lifted when you have the full license?

Update:

I know in Ohio you must wear a helmet license or permit until you are 18. I'm not sure about the passenger part. Maybe I might call the DMV.

Since you don't have any Ohio answers yet, I will tell you the difference between a motorcycle license and permit in Indiana. With a permit, you have to wear a helmet, can't carry passengers, and can't ride at night. I expect the helmet law may change in the next few years to include everyone, license or permit. That's really the only difference here and it's probably pretty close to Ohio's.

Hi Tamzid, you apply for a provisional drivers licence. It is the same licence for anything you drive/ride. The licence will show what groups you can drive and the start dates. There will be P (mopeds) on there which you may ride at age 16. There will be B (cars) on there which will start on your 17th birthday. You do not have to apply for a separate car licence when you are 17, you will already have it.
