Big problem (military), concerning fish.?
I have had a fish tank (3-55 gallon), since becoming permanent party in the Army. I just had to move into a new barracks (ran by civilians), two weeks ago. I just recieved their application for a barracks room. The Barrack Assignment Guidlines states: Pets are not authorize, including fish. I know there must be away around this new rule. Any ideas on how to keep my aquatic friends. This is a single man room. my tank is well taken care of, weekly mantinence is kept up with.
Actually I do have quite abit of time on my hands, I work odd hours (I'm a cook). Unfortunately I don't know where my father is, and my mother passed in August. I probably will never be deployed (TRADOC), and if I am I have arrangements with a petcare facitlity to take the tank and care for it. In the case of Field issues I use an automatic feeder for month long feeding. I also come back atleast once every 2-3 days for food/shower runs.

I feel your pain.
Every time I have seen something taken over by civilians, it gets worse.
My only suggestion is to talk to your married friends, and see if you can keep them at someone's house.

All I know is my friend keeps a cat in her barracks room without being allowed to. Only time I see a problem is if you are getting a barracks inspection or something, but it would be easy to hide the cat or take her somewhere else, but with a fish tank that would be rather difficult.

You can't hide it. It would just take one person to see it and report it to the Shirt. Can you leave it at your parents'? Or with a friend? At some point you may be able to move out of the barracks. But what happens when you deploy or go TDY?

Man, you must have a lot of time on your hands to have a pet.... Just ask the guy in charge of the barracks. If he says no because of rules and regulation, it's going to be no.

No you may google protection rigidity dolphins and watch the you tube video approximately them. they're marvelous and extremely nicely taken care of. they are no longer fishing for dolphins, they're training them and taking truly reliable care of them. Spend 2 minutes extra gaining knowledge of them and you may understand how powerful they're to the protection rigidity.

pets will get in the way of your job, and they might get blown up at some point.
