The problem is that library cataloging isn't as simple as it seems on the surface (ugg how am I going to survive cataloging this semester). There is an open source cataloging project http://www.koha.org/ I'm unsure how well it conforms to MARC. However, it might be what you are looking for.

You might want to try shelfari.com. It is free and there is no limit on the amount of books you can catalog. They also offer several options of organization, alphabeitcal, time line, favotires, want to read, etc. It's also a great place to join groups to discuss books with other book lovers. Good luck! :)

http://www.librarything.com/ This is a wonderful site. It allows you to catalog up to 200 books for free. Then there is $25.00 lifetime membership fee for unlimited further additions to your catalog.
