My husband has been urinating blood and having pain in his lower abdomen, any ideas?
This pain seems to come and go along with the blood. He peed clear for a day then all of a sudden it came back. He says at it's worst it looks like he is peeing cranberry juice. We have no insurance so he won't go to the hospital so I was wondering if anyone has an idea as to what this could be?

How about you go to the hospital?
Well he probably has something serious, and it will get worse and become life threatening and then you'll HAVE to take him to the hospital and it will cost you even moer money.
His bladder could be bleeding, he could have a serious infection, his kidneys could be having some serious issues, a number of things. But get him to a doctor soon before it get's worse.

Having worked for urologists for a long time it could be a few things. Not knowing his age and medical history...
1. Kidney stone that has passed into his bladder (reason for the blood and the pain and the most likely reason for these episodes).
2. Urinary tract infection.
3. Prostate infection (the prostate has tiny blood vessels that can break and bleed but this is usually into the semen, not the urine though it is possible.).
4. Bladder cancer. If he has a history of smoking that increases this chance. If he is under 45 or so, it is not likely but, again, possible. He really should be checked out by a doctor.
He should increase his fluid intake (especially water) to 100 ounces per day and take whatever pain medication works for him (Tylenol or Advil).

Guess what, Mama! When he collapses, he won't have any choice but go to the hospital. You should have a free clinic in your area. Go online & type in Free Medical Care or free medical clinics & list your city's name. It could be a kidney stone, kidney infection, bladder infection, any number of things that needs attention ASAP.

Too risky to relie on amateur opinion on this subject. I have urinated blood from time to time, temporarily. But in his case the pain sounds more serious. He must see a doc. Despite the shortage of money, search out a free clinic or public health. Every city has one.

You really need to see a doctor, it could be kidney stones, bladder infection, prostate problems, etc.

I don't think this question can accurately be answered by anyone other than a doctor.
