Possible Overdose? Help!?

I just accidentally two whole bottles of Maximum Strength WalTussin. There's 354 mg of dextromethorphan hydrobromide per bottle. Should I seek medical attention?

And what should I expect for "side effects?"

I took it about 30 minutes ago, and I haven't felt anything different. My friend says that taking too much cough syrup cause make you high or something.

Wow bud, you're in for a long ride... 700mg of DXM is a strong dose and is gonna get you WASTED (and not necessarily in an enjoyable way)...

However, the DXM isn't going to hurt you. The other ingredients, however, can... too much acetaminophen and/or pseudoephedrine can kill you.

If you did it to get high, then I expect you won't be calling poison control but I would advise that you AT LEAST have a friend or family member who is aware of what you're doing in case you start freaking out or quit breathing or something like that.

I'd advise you puke right now too because even recreationally, 2 bottles is just way too much dude.....

You have taken an overdose and should seek medical attention right away.

Also, you might be in need of some emotional intervention. Ingesting two whole bottles of cough medicine is not an accident.

    Seek help right now!!

The daily recommended dosage is for non-life threatening or non-emergency care. If you were in the hospital they'd easily triple the dose or give you a much more powerful drug. If you're worried call a doctor, but I'm sure you'll be fine. Tylenol is one of the safest medicines available. Hope this helps.

This doesn't sound like an accident.

Contact 1-800-222-1222 (the American Association of Poison Control Centers), your local poison control center (http://www.aapcc.org),/ or emergency room immediately. Symptoms may include blurred vision; confusion; hallucinations; seizures; severe dizziness, lightheadedness, or headache; severe drowsiness; stomach pain; unusually fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; vomiting; yellowing of skin or eyes.

How do you "accidentally" take two bottles of cough syrup? I personally think you are full of crap.

However, you can expect possible death because of heart arrhythmia as well as possible liver damage. You kind of need your liver to live ya know, but you can't tell kids that.

Call 911. You and your friend are morons and there is no way this was an accident. You may have permanently damaged your liver.

Sounds like to me you are trying to Robo-Trip. This is a very dangerous thing to do. It makes you feel like you are on acid. But this is VERY DANGEROUS! Wait a few hours and you will feel the effects.
