Why are breasts called boobs or boobies?

I learned the other day that a boobie trap was called such as it would catch sea birds in flight called boobies. What is the connection to boobs?

Update:

Good point KBelleC, may be why my girl says i have moobs !!

Update 2:

D.Zilla is Dr. Frog, if you are hungry, you would eat anything ;o)

"It's because the word 'boobs' has two 'o's, which looks like breasts. That's why Hooters was given its name"

We call an arm an arm. We call a leg a leg. We call hands hands. We call feet feet. We call fingers fingers. We call toes toes. I, a woman, am 66 and was brought up to be respectful. Maybe I am too straight-laced, but I call a breast a breast and I call a penis a penis. I have to think it is because those last two, being more intimate body parts that their parents do not call them what they are out of deference to their young ears. But adults should call both parts what they are and not hide behind childish slang terms. My problem is I play The Family Feud online with five of my family members and I am the ONLY one who uses breasts. The rest all use boobs. None use bobbies at least, but I hate the slang term and find it offensive.
