American Idol Top 10?
Looking at the top 10 that will be going on tour, do you agree that the AI producers kept Michael over Alexis last night in order to maintain a wider demographic for the summer tour? Don't get me wrong - I like Michael Sarver. I think he is a likeable fellow and because of his age and family status, I can relate to him more than anyone else on the show. But the fact is that Alexis was a stronger performer. With him on tour though, they will draw a much larger audience of working class men who identify with Sarver. I think that's why he stayed last night, and why he'll likely be eliminated next week.
Do you agree?
I went to dialidol.com on Wednesday, and they had the bottom three at that point to be Alexis, Allison, and Megan as their projected bottom 3. Michael was projected to be in the middle of the pack - yet he wound up in bottom 2. Can't give dialidol a whole lot of thought.
And if you believe that the producers of the show don't manipulate the voting from time to time in order to maintain control, then you are out of your mind. These people run a show that is their livelyhood - they want to make as much money as possible. They keep who they want. You keep wasting time and money "voting." Why do you think that they never release the actual voting numbers? If they had nothing to hide, those would be available to the public.

Alexis isn't as good as Michael. Period.

No, I don't think so. If you went to dialidol.com, she was the last one on the list. She went home cuz she had the fewest number of votes. DialIdol.com measures the busy signal to determine the number of votes, and they are usually right on target. The only votes they don't count are the text message votes.
Origianally, I read somewhere that someone working for AI predicted that Alexis would be in the top 10. So I don't think AI producers were trying to do anything.

Keep wasting time and money voting- I have never voted on American Idol or any other tv show.
Well okay, I guess I can believe the producers are manipulating the results. If thats the case, this isn't the only Idol show that exists, and this isn't the only reality show Simon Fuller produces, you know. So I guess they do that for every talent competition. I have a life outside American Idol. Every reality show competition, there are always rumors about it being fixed. Man, they made huge mistake with Taylor Hicks then.
American Idol and all the other Idols evolved from Pop Idol. All of them follow the same idea. So I guess if producers do that for American Idol, the producers on the other Idol shows might do the same thing. Maybe Simon Cowell tries to manipulate the votes on the X-Factor too, which also has other international versions. As long as they come out with someone good, and it works for the show, it's fine with me. It's entertainment, not like we are voting the President of the U.S. As long as who they want to win is not someone the majority of AI watchers are gonna hate, I don't think it's a big deal. It's not like American voters are completely objective either.
I mean Alex being the stronger performer but Michael Sarver more likable? You can't think that any of the producers or "voters" are that objective, can you? If I voted, I probably could care less who is stronger. Whether it is the producers or "voters" geting them through, -okay, whatever, I don't know how it works if what you say is true. I thought Alexis was boring. I mean isn't Michal Sarver a oil rigger from a small town in Texas and wasn't the theme country? Country music is big in Texas. I should know cuz I am in Texas. He should know about country music.

Alexis was a lot stronger than Michael, she had the presence, the voice, and the look. Michael is really good, don't get me wrong, but Alexis was better! She would have been so good on the tour. Michael is a lot like past country artists we've seen on the show so far, he is boring sometimes and not original. Alexis was unique in some way. Michael is a good singer and all and I didn't want Alexis or Michael to go home, I wanted it to be Megan or Scott. No offence to anyone!!

AI has always had rumors swirling about how the real votes are not counted and they make their own choices because they don't actually show the results ot the poll. There is no way that more people keep calling in every week and they set new records on the amount of votes eery week. their ratings keep dropping but more people are voting?
I like both performers and they both deserved to stay. Adam could have gone home with his absolutely horrible performance but he will be in the top 5 because of his screechy voice (ugh!) The blind guy (forgot his name, sorry) should have went home. He is very good but he has only one deminsion when he sings so he will not make the top 7.
Why didn't the judges save Alexis since they absolutely loved her last week? It is all a bunch of crap and I am done watching after 5 years. I have had it with all the lies that AI perputrates on us.

I feel that American Idol is definitely rigged. Alexis Grace gives a hell of a better performance than Michael Sarver ever did in his entire life. Michael does not deserve the final 10 tour. He should have been eliminated instead of Alexis.

You're probably right about how he's going home next week but he might have somefans that actually made him win more votes over Alexis so the producers might not have done that. Alexis didn't perform that well on Tuesday so people could have changed their mind about being her fans and oting for her or something.
I agree that he'll likely be eliminated next week -but then again who knows..he might do a really good job next week and people might change their minds about him- its better to tell after we've seen their performances.

I think Michael has to go sooner or later. I couldn't fully understand why he was kept instead of Alexis. I know Alexis didn't pick a good song this week but Michael's song wasn't that much better.

Who stays and who goes shouldn't be left to the public. There are a couple of people that should have been voted off last night that weren't even in the bottom 3. Adam Lambert for one. But he probably has all the "tween" votes cause he looks like a fall out boy.
But, I also must say that Alexis' last song wasn't good enough to keep her on. But still, she shouldn't have been in the bottom 3 in the first place.

i cant fully agree on you. it could be like wad you said, then again it may not.
alexis should have stayed. many were to go before her. megan scott micheal.. gosh.. i do believe scott was on the show base on sympathy votes..not to be offensive.. it limits you alot as a performer if you're blind. the stage presence is way lesser.. im just thinking how long can he hold up behind a piano.. but back to it, i do know the AI producers do control the show but did they make micheal stayed for tour? im not sure

You do realize that the producers don't choose who goes home? America votes, and the person with the least amount of votes goes home.

I think they kept the blind guy, so they wouldn't be called mean or insensitive. Truth is, he's just not that good, and Alexis should be there instead of him.
