I think it's fine. Don't be so hard on yourself, just give it a try. My son is almost 8 months old and I've given him Cheerios's. Not a great idea, by he's ok. His Nana, my MIL, loves to feed him and tries to give him cookies, and all kinds of things that could make him choke. But he's ok.

Stage 2 food is just like stage 1, except the texture is just a bit thicker and the types of foods differ slightly. Stage 2 is usually mixed foods, like meat with veggies or different fruits put together. Sometimes stage 2 sometimes includes ingredients that younger babies might develop allergies to, like tomatoes and mangoes.

If you're still concerned, try thickening up stage 1 food with a little bit of rice. See how the baby does.

As it turns out, my son likes to naw on celery sticks and carrot sticks. The nice thing about veggies is they don't make a big mess like those teething cookies. He's only got two teeth on the bottom, so he can't bite off a big chunk, (which happens with the teething cookies) and besides, he likes veggies, how bad is that.

My point is, try it. I won't hurt him. You'll know if it's good for him or worthwhile.

That is fine as long as the baby can handle the lumps in the food, sometimes it takes them a while to learn to chew them

That is fine if there is no history of choking, and they can support their heads and torso. My son was already on #2's by 7 months old.

that would be fine as long as the baby can sit without support

The only milk your baby should ever drink is from your breast. After it's all gone, switch to almond or rice. FOR YOUR KIDS SAKE, PLEASE READ THE LINKS.
