Article 199c: Have the FIA shot themselves in the foot?

FOTA has questioned the validity of the rule change. As per Article 199 c of International Sporting Code, the rules changes cannot come to effect with such short notice without the consent of the participating teams. In other words, unless the teams consent, these cannot be made valid until next season.

Is there hope? How come FIA overlooked this clause?

I can only assume that if they shot themselves in the foot it's because they are incompetent and they were actually aiming for their collective head...

FIA overlooked the clause because they were having a favour called in by Bernie. Now it's a question of whether they have the b@lls to brave things out and force the rule change through or whether they "defer" it to next season (code for quietly drop it, hopefully).

The F1 Technical website are doing a poll as to what viewers think of the new rules. As at 961 votes (including mine), the ratings are:

    1) "Far to complicated" = 7%

    2) "Just plain nonsense" = 80%

    3) "Real medals would be even better" = 3%

    4) "Great, way to go" = 10%

While I wouldn't go so far as to say the sampling wasn't biased (after all, only a small portion of those interested in F1 visit that website), I do think it is a fair indication there isn't a "ground swell" supporting the change (other than at Ferrari).

I personally think the proposed rule change is just sour grapes because Hamilton won the championship by the skin of his teeth in the closing seconds of the last race. My humble opinion is that is a way more exciting way to finish a championship than to have the winner known for months in advance ... or arguably before the season starts.

How come they overlooked? Ha! Having observed these idiots for going on 20 years, I suspect it has NOTHING to do with "overlooking." IGNORING their own articles is much more likely for Bernie Bumf*ck and Mad Max.

Those arrogant basturds (sic) care naught for what anyone other than their own little coterie thinks. Get rid of those two morons and clean house. It's too bad that a consensus of teams and fans will produce no positive results from those clowns. So unless they die, expect continued moronic edicts from those inbred schmucks.

I hope they get rid of these stupid rules. All those lethargic old men make up the rules as they go along which is why they can't remember most of them.

Btw, i posted a question earlier that doesn't seem to be showing up so i hope you don't mind me posting a link to it here :http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=An...
