How do people on yahoo answers get top contributor?

First of all you have to answer a lot of questions. Pick a category you think you are good at, answer a lot of questions with quality answers, not just yes or no's.

Y!A goes by a formula. Becoming top contributor depends on how many best answers you get compared to the number of questions that you have answered. The tricky part is, you can answer many questions and not get many best answers; this will make your percentage drop and so you can lose your status if it drops too low.

So all in all you need to answer many questions but get best answers many of the times. If you quit answering for a while your status will be taken away from you.

make sure at least 10% of your answers are BA's.

answer at least 5 questions a day in one category that you're good at. you lose your badge if you don't remain active. to really get the attention of the moderators after spending a couple of weeks answering at least 5 questions a day like i said, spend a large part of you're day answering questions on YA for a couple of days.

Answer everyday i guess, I wasnt even aware that id havin a badge. I just answer it and received lots of BA's, you should be able to answer 30 or more in a week and have a 10% of BA

Answering a lot of questions and getting best answers

this is the 4th time i have had this badge,

first i had it for music & beauty/style & Socety & Culture

second i had it for pets

third i had it for astronomy and diet and fitness

Now i have it for politics lol

I lose mine on a weekly basis & really I am better off without it.

If you really want one pick a category that you know a lot about & answer a lot & hope you get a lot of best answers.

They seem to have no job. Stay on 24/7. Mess with your questions/answers if you disagree/challenge them. Sounds like they are paid for by who their answers represent. Just a theory. Seems like they always have some angle to push during there bullish answers and accusations. Warning!!! This has been a test of your bullish and ostracizing ability!!!. you have to answer alot of questions in one area (eg games, medical, beauty, etc etc) and continue to answer in that area.
