Strange lump on underside of my arm?

There is a small, half penny sized lump on the underside of my left arm about 2 inches from my arm pit. The lump is greyish-brown in color, a little hard but not super hard. Skin can peel off it occasionally and it does bleed. It is not painful. It very suddenly appeared one day a discoloration of the skin and then the next rising to a lump. What on could it be? Yes, I will eventually go to a doctor but I live in rural no-where and until i'm over that way i can't spend $80 in gas just to go and rather have more than one thing to do to go that way. Is this really anything to be concerned about or just scaring of some sort? I am young, early 20's

There could be various reasons for this. Could be an ingrown hair and/or infection of some kind. It doen not sound like cancer though. Since it bleeds, your body is obviously trying to flush something out. Could be a bacterial infection of your lymph node.

If you tend to be feeling ill (like tired all the time or like you have a cold) - I'd, without hesitation, spend the $80 for fuel to get to a doctor. If it is something serious, and you catch it in time, you'll potentially save youself a lot of cash.... but more importantly your health!

It possibly has something to do with the lymph system. Get thee to a doc to find out what's going on.
